Getting Ds

I find out my decision tomorrow but I have a feeling I will be deferred. I got a D in AP Bio and took it again to get an A and I got a D in Calc Honors (which was really AP but shows up on transcripts as honors). And let's not even discuss the Cs...(mostly AP though). I have a 28 ACT and 3.2/4.1 GPA and applied summer B. I am hoping that having around 35 core credits, 6 APs, Dual Enrolled, and Honors will help cushion some of the poor grades...

Deferral of a decision or outright denial are the only outcomes I would expect, unfortunately.

My son had 2 D’s when he applied last year. One was dropped by retaking the course but the other one remained on his transcript. He was deferred but ultimately accepted for summer. He had a 1850 on SAT which he retook after deferral and raised it to 1920. He had at least 5 4’s and 5’s on AP exams but only a 3.1 UW GPA and 3.7 weighted GPA. He submitted his first semester senior year grades which were A’s and B’s plus 1 C in a dual enrollment class. He took all AP classes his senior year. I think what helped him was that he actually retook the SAT after being deferred with decent improvement and his grades were his best semester of high school. He had a 27 on ACT. I think you have a great shot. It was a long wait for all of us but he is doing great at FSU.

I got accepted today! I can’t believe it!
