Getting into UMCP for an LEP

I applied to University of Maryland, College Park, back in September, as a Government & Politics major. My class rank is good (20/247 weighted, weighted 3.8 GPA), took all honors/AP classes, did sports my freshman and sophomore year, started working my sophomore year and took on two jobs junior year, member of the National Honor Society, etc.

What are my chances of getting in? I wouldn't be concerned, but the fact that my major is an LEP has me a little concerned. I'm also waiting to hear back from them, I know you'll hear a decision by 31 January, but when do they letters usually come?

SATs were average, only an 1810.
CR 670
Math 520
Writing 620, 10/12 on the essays

Weighted gpa on a 4.0 scale?

Cumulative unweighted GPA is a 3.55

I would edit my original post to put in other information and organize it better, but it won’t let me. With that being said, I took two APs my junior year, the first year they were available to me (3 on Spanish Lang, 5 on English Lang & Comp) and am currently taking AP Psych and APUSH.

UMD: Match

What’s your safety?

I’ve gotten into Lock Haven, University of Pittsburgh, University of Delaware, and Penn State. If UMCP doesn’t pan out, I’ll probably go to Penn State.

Like I said, I’m worried about getting into my major because it’s an LEP and therefore more competitive.

Since you applied really early, I’d say match. If you applied regular it would have been low match. Good luck.

Bumping this to try and get a wider variety of feedback

Bump x2

Hoping to hear back from UMCP soon. The only way I’ll end up going there, realistically, is if I get accepted into the Government & Politics LEP.
