Getting Rescinded

Here's the situation:

I have maintained a 4.0 the first semester of my senior year, and this second semester it looks like I will finish with somewhere between a 3.6 and 4.0, with no D's or F's, completely satisfying the rules for people accepted at UCSC.

This is where things get sticky; I have been taking an extra class at a local community college. It is for an extra math class. I have already fulfilled my requirement for math classes to graduate high school (3 years), and am taking this class only as an extra to look good for colleges. I could have easily just not taken this class and not much would have changed, as I took it out of my own desire and I did not have to take it. I am pretty sure I got a D or F in that class..the final grade has not come out yet. Does this D or F grade count also toward the requirement of no D or F? Or does it not, since I did not even have to take this class in the first place? I would feel awful if this did happen, since I did not even have to take the class, and I know I have been putting in effort to fight off senioritis to get good grades even this second semester. I was hoping to get a 4.0 the entire year but it looks like none of it matters now. What do you guys know about UCSC and there rescinding tendencies? How will this turn out this is really concerning to me.

Thanks for taking your time to read this, and sorry it's so long!! Hope to hear from you guys soon.

Considering your existing GPA I doubt it’ll do any harm. Best idea is to email a counselor though.

Nah, i think you’re fine. I doubt they will revoke your admission for not passing a course that wasn’t even required in high school.

I’m fairly sure you can just pretend like it never happened. Unless you somehow reported to the school that you would be giving them the transcript for that class, in which case, I would double-check with the admissions office about if you are required to turn in the transcript for that class.

Either way, I know that the CC courses I took did not affect my GPA, so you’re fine on that end.

hey thanks liesel, proteinman, and crummy. To Liesel, I did mention in my application under other schools attended I listed this CC class…is that what you’re saying by somehow reporting to ucsc that i would be giving the transcript?

Yeah. Last year I also considered not giving them the transcripts for my CC classes. I got a nasty email a week after the deadline saying I needed to turn them in or I’d possibly be rescinded.
