@shay33 I think the midyear was due Jan 1st as well. Not super sure though haha, dont take my word for it :D

@aspheric I know!! Its so wierd, but now all we gotta do is wait, arghh

Hey, have any of you guys gotten an email from the admissin office saying that they recieved the app? I sent mine the 29th and I havent gotten anything back yet :s. Does that mean they didnt get it, because Commonapp says that everything has been submitted? God, this is kind of worrying haha.

Shay-Talk to whoever is in charge of sending transcripts for your school (guidance counselor, registrar, etc). For instance, my midyear grades won’t be sent until the end of the month since my semester doesn’t even end until late January.

I sent my application on 12/19, and I JUST got my email from Barnard yesterday. So that’s like 3 weeks, I think. I wouldn’t worry about it, as long as CommonApp says you’re set!

I haven’t gotten one either, but I sent mine in the 31st, so if it takes about 3 weeks, I guess it will still be a few days. its so hard to wait!!

the END of march? man, I thought it was the beginning! either way, it’s forever ;)

well I guess 2 months isn’t that bad but still!

by the way, has anyone still not gotten an email from Barnard? I haven’t, and since it’s a smaller school, it shouldn’t take this long right?? I’m kind of nervous about this. I submitted it the 31st, so I don’t understand why I still haven’t gotten the email. ahh!!

good to know I’m not the only one prinanp! I hope we get them soon!

thanks sperra haha just know that there isn’t anything you can do right now, which could actually be a blessing. take this time to relax after working on your college apps (not to mention working through 3 1/2 years of high school!) good luck everyone! It is scary knowing that they’re deciding right now!! ahhh I want to get in so bad!

also, I have a question for everyone…when you submitted your SAT scores, why did Barnard require that you send every score? To me, that doesn’t seem fair. I did okay on my first SAT and thought ‘why not, i’ll just see if I can do better this time’ and took it again but I was really sick so I couldn’t even concentrate and got a much lower score the second time. I don’t see why they need all scores if they are going to consider the highest anyway. why would they require this?? it just made me mad because I wouldn’t have taken the SAT twice if I knew schools would require I sent it. I didn’t know that was even allowed! anyway, I sent them all, but I really hope it doesn’t ruin my chances. ugh sorry vent over just wondering if anyone else had similar frustrations!

and two other schools I applied to did this too, but I care about Barnard the most, so it really makes me nervous!!

I GOT IT!
I have a question though,
After I sent in my Common Application I sent in two additional letters or recommendation from my French Teacher and our School Vice Principal. I e-mail Barnard asking what information I should provide them with when I send these letter, they said I should just add my first and last name. But when I go to track my application, it doesn’t say that they’ve received any additional letters of rec. I’m wondering if that means they never got them, or if they just aren’t official, but have and will use them. Not sure. :/

prinanp - when did you submit application? My daughter submitted on 12/30 and still has not heard. Wondering if she should check w/admissions?
You probably don’t have to worry about the rec ltrs - they probably haven’t updated their systems yet - especially if they are just updating receipt of common app (I hope).

I submitted my common app in on the 30th also and only just got my email yesterday. I called the admissions office because it said I was still missing things and the woman I spoke to told me not to worry, that it’s just taking them a really long time to sort through all the materials.

Hey y’all,
I’m not saying I know a lot (or really anything), but if you have questions for someone accepted ED, just let me know. I love thinking about Barnard, and I’m happy to help.
