Quick question: What is the issue with people who need corrective lenses in BCT, what do they do? Are glasses issued?

They issue you 2 pairs of BCGs. (They are some of the ugliest glasses known to man, but they are rediculously tough.)

Alright! Do you have to wear them all of the time?

If you are asking; "I only need to wear them to read", then when you read, you will wear them. If you are asking; "I wear glasses, can I wear the BCG during training, etc... during the day, but can I wear my personal glasses or contacts at night in the dorm", then the answer is no. You can't wear your personal prescription glasses. Now, once BCT is over, it's a different story.

Of course, rules may have changed. An existing cadet can most definitely correct me if I am wrong.

you're good. basically you either wear them all the time or never. if you only need them to read, you'll wear them all the time cause there's lots of studying your basic handbook and other things. after BCT, please have normal glasses. you can also get plain (but not BCG) glasses here if you need

Is it advisable to have contacts after BCT or are glasses the better option?

Whatever you prefer after BCT is up to you.

Alright thanks, no what I was saying was I dont need them to read but I need glasses to see far objects more sharply.

So, should I bring contacts with me on I-day if I want them right after BCT?

If you don't mind them sitting in your backpack for 6 weeks, you could. Or you could ask your parents to mail them in a package for you (this will probably be mentioned more a little closer to improcessing).
