Good AP Exams to self-study?

Hey guys, I'm currently a sophomore at my highschool and I'll begin taking my AP classes/tests next year. I have a somewhat clear plan in taking 9 or 10 AP classes/tests before graduating. Since my highschool requires minimum credits for P.E, Visual Arts and whatnot, I have a restriction on how many AP classes I can take. So, I wanted to know if there were any AP exams that were reasonable in difficulty, with a self-study.

My current plan goes as:

Junior Year:
-Calculus AB
-Calculus BC
-AP Lang
-AP W. History
-AP Biology
-Honors Physics (pre-AP course)
-Mandarin III (pre-AP course)

Senior Year:
-AP Lit
-AP Chemistry
-AP Physics
-AP Psychology
-Honors Environmental Science (pre-AP course)
-Art III
-Physical Education IV

I'm currently considering self-studying AP-Chinese but am still unsure. Hope I can get some advice. Thanks!:)

you should try self-studying ap micro/macro-economics

Which would you say is more challenging of those two?

Music Theory, if you have a strong music background(:
i heard AP Human Geo is easy.

“I have a restriction on how many AP exams I can take hurr durr”

takes 10 AP classes in school over 2 years

AP Psych and AP Human Geography are two of the most doable self-studies out there. The classes are basically just memorizing terminology or simple concepts (I can’t tell you about Geo exactly, taking Psych now), and it’s possible to get a 5 on either with minimal studying.

AP Environmental Science, the common sense AP science course, is another one. I’m not planning on taking it since some colleges know it’s a very low-intensity course but if you have your heart set on getting another AP credit, go right ahead.

Other than these, I’ve heard people self-study anything from AP Bio to AP Calc BC. It’s all a question of how much you want to learn something/how much effort you are going to put into doing it. :)

Most of the “easy to self-study” APs are the ones which few colleges give subject credit for (or if they do, it is for a one semester course known to be easy).

Go to the web sites of your state’s public universities and any private universities that you are interested in to check to see what APs are actually accepted for subject credit.

Definitely self-study for Chinese if you’re Chinese, although a Chinese person taking AP Chinese is kind of cheap. (I did so anyways. I can’t answer questions about my weekend with “skydiving” and “robbing a bank” in other language APs with a sense of casual fluency, so it was mostly for the laughs).

I’ve heard that AP Stats is a no-brainer, but you might have to check on that.

in regard to which one is easier, there is really not much of a difference between AP micro/macro-economics. I would also suggest you self-study for AP stats. I am taking precalculus honors right now, and before I take the AP Calc BC test next year as a senior, I want to do AP stats this year. And honestly it is easier than precalculus for me haha

Think twice before you decide to take AP Chinese…
I’m a Chinese, and I’ve checked the questions in AP Chinese exam once just because I was curious. The questions seemed a bit “tricky” even to a native speaker like me. (Not too tough, but I won’t say it’s a “easy” one.)

But still, if you’re doing well in your Chinese class, it’s possible to get a 5.

Err, thanks guys, I’m Japanese, not Chinese. haha
