Good JUNIOR YEAR schedule for ivy's?

I'm talking Princeton, Brown etc.....(and I think I'm going for PRE-MED, as in a major in biochem etc.)

Is this an impressive/good/competitive junior year schedule?

AP Physics
AP Computer Science
AP English Language and Composition
AP US History
AP Psychology
AP Spanish
Honors Pre-Calculus
Research and Presentation
Gym

Also, high 90s in all these classes should be good too right?

That's a very solid schedule, especially given your high grades, but that Pre-Calculus Honors is not very impressive, I have to say. Other than that, I think you have a strong shot, especially if your college boards and EC's are good.

Im from New York where we go from Math A in freshyear to Math B and then PreCalc and then AP Calc BC in senior year :( So far that's the highest I can get in junior year math, PreCalc H

I'm really curious about how you will get "high 90s" in AP Physics with only precalc. I'm in GT physics and precalc right now, and I think it's tougher taking physics with less math than some of the other kids...

I'm talking Physics B, its not Calculus-Based from what I've heard and read....

bump bump bump

anyone else?

Also, does junior year hold the highest weight in your academic performance towards college?

Terrible schedule. You should be out working on your third patent, or a cure for malaria. Alternatively, trying to find a way to reinvent your parents so they can donate a building.

^ Haha, yes, that would be a much more efficient use of your time.

U took MAth a in 9th grade hahahahaha...

actually thats normal but rvc..my old school district makes kids learn math a year ahead and during hs..your english and history classes for 9th and 10th well basically being in advanced is nothing special everyone has Global 9a &10 a and the same w/ english well basically i took MAth A starting in 7th grade(middle of that year to spread it out) through end of 8th grade i took math A regents that june...in a very hot 7th grade class room! and i took first year of MAth B last year but im at a new school the math has some weird label..and i dont have to take REGENTS!

You are CLEARLY either a liar or a braggart. Of course you'd get in with that schedule. What kind of a question is that?

And how do you expect to get high 90's in 6 different AP's? Do you go to a public school? Because I'm taking AP US, and I have about 1.5 hours of homework EVERY NIGHT.

And no one I know, and no one I've seen on this forum has a schedule like that, ESPECIALLY not a junior. So either you're trying to brag or you're a liar, and neither one is good.

That schedule is really not that hard.

Actually, it's pretty hard. Pretty much one of the the hardest schedules possible.

I'm broke as hell and in a public school....*** is up with these comments?
I asked an honest question.....
regarding the Math A and B etc...
I realize that my school district is really stupid in setting us up for math, from what I've heard they're going back to Sequential Mathematics!! :(

That looks like a very solid schedule. 6 APs is definitely impressive, but if you're considering a major in biochem, why no AP Bio or AP Chem, unless you took those already? Otherwise, I'm pretty sure you already knew that high 90s in 6 APs junior year would make you competitive at any college.

Um, ewoodham, not clearly a liar. I think the schedule is quite possible...6APs, 1 honors, and a couple easy classes. Looks good to me. You should be able to do well in Physics B with only precalc, it does not require a lot of math. The precalculus is definately a weakness on your schedule, considering that you're going into premed, but if that's what everyone in your school district does then it's no problem. Otherwise, the schedule looks great.

My school doesn't give me a choice, I'm forced to take AP Bio in senior year. Also, AP Chem is available at my school but the problem is that you need more than 15 students to make an AP class. So if possible, I'll take AP Chem and Bio in senior year, other than that I don't have a choice in helping my pre-med goal...

By the way, does a RESEARCH class look good too? I'm planning on taking one for four years straight...

What do you do in research class? I guess the biggest question is how that's viewed at your school. If your counselor thinks it's a tough class and marks that you took the hardest possible schedule, you're in good shape. If AP Chem isn't offered, don't worry about not taking it. You're compared against the people at your school.
