Everyone who was selected as a GWHS finalist; have a great time and good luck. I'll see you in September!

Ditto - enjoy Lexington!!! Best of luck to all of you atteding.

Thanks - I am very much NOT looking forward to all the work I'l have to catch up on once we get home.

Thank you so much! I'm so excited!

Thanks :). Like Dima, I'm also worried about schoolwork and such, but I am "psyched" so to say about the trip...

eek! look at all the snow! http://www2.wlu.edu/web/page/normal/275.html

Looks similar to Chicago right now ;). But here the snow's not sticking that much.

I hate the cold. :(

Alright, all that snow is headed for me (Maine) tomorrow. No school!

I just looked up my faculty interviewers and I am being interviewed by the Prof of Chem, the Prof of Journalism, and the Assc. Prof of Romance Languages. I hope they're not too hard on me...

Hey, slipstream, you're not the one facing massive airline delays.

I don't know how I'm going to get out of LaGuardia, I may not make it y'all.

oh, and I decided to look up my interviewers too

classics - politics - philosophy

It's probably good that one of them matches my probable major.

Chemistry, Romance Languages, Journalism.

I'm so excited, a little weirded out by the upcoming airport experience, but I'll be okay. Quick (probably ridiculous question): do they let you bring a razor on an airplane? Common sense would say no since you can't even bring tweezers anymore, but do people really buy a new razor everytime they travel?

Check the faa homepage (faa.gov) for forbidden objects.

My guess is you can bring one so long as it's checked and not carry-on, but to play it safe check with the FAA.

Okay. I checked with TSA - "safety razors (including disposable razors)" are fine to carry-on or check

think it's safe to bring my iPod? or will it get stolen if i leave it in the dorm?

also, i just finished packing and it turns out that I am bringing a buttload of clothes. i didn't even know i had so many freakin sweaters

PS - i looked at the tsa list and found the following pretty funny:

Meat cleavers: no
Spear guns: no
Billy clubs: no
Dynamite: no

is there anyone who would actually think they would be able to bring these?

PPS - willywonka, i think we have the same faculty interviewers! (they look intimidating...)

nothing gets stolen at W&L

Honor System, remember? It's one of my biggest reasons for coming.

You can always feel free to give me your iPod, however...

FYI - best to put any questionable items in your checked baggage - not in carry on.

All of you have a great trip - great visit - and safe travels.

As i sit here in the midst of an ole fashioned Nor'easter!!! Has to be warmer in Lexington after all the bad weather today - so enjoy yourselves and don't be nervous.

Break a leg!!!!!!!!!

thanks...i'm off to the airport! see you all at W&L:)

Are you kidding me about the Honor System?
EVERY morning in Campus Notices, without fail, someone is missing either a black North Face fleece, a flip-top cell phone, or both. One of my friends' backpacks went missing for a week; it was recovered minus several important items, including books and notebooks. And another friend is now missing his laptop, mouse, etc.

Of course, there's always the argument that it "could've been a townie"...but I'm not sure how many townies end up at the pole houses wednesday nights.

Sorry, but that needed to be said. We're humans here, not gods; I personally couldn't steal things, but frankly people can and do.

Enjoy it here, y'all. :)

Well, I did not get a chance to read that before I left so I spent the entire time assuming everyone follows the Honor System without fail.

I left my stuff in random places, the dorm room door was always open. The only thing that was missing when I got home was my hat, which I lost in LaGuardia on my way down.
