We are only days away from Early Decision announcements, and on behalf of myself, Dave Berry, Sally Rubenstone, our counseling staff, and our great mod crew that keeps this forum running smoothly, I’d like to convey our best wishes for admissions success to our CC members!
I’ve seen many of your stats and achievements here, and I’m confident that there will be lots of smiling faces in the coming week. I’m amazed at what an accomplished, diverse, and interesting group of individuals our members are! You all make the CC community what it is, and we’re glad you are here!
Best of luck from everyone at College Confidential!
– Roger
P.S. For those who don’t make it in during the ED round, don’t panic… Although it’s easy to fall in love with a particular college and pin all your hopes on it, there are many colleges that can provide a unique and rewarding undergrad experience. (Statistics show that over three quarters of students are happy with the college they attend and wouldn’t switch even if given the chance; undoubtedly, this includes many students who had some disappointments in the ED and RD rounds.) It may be difficult to put the sting of deferral or rejection aside (it hurts!); nevertheless, try to focus on a solid group of RD schools. You’ll get some great acceptances, and by next fall you’ll be starting the best four years of your life!

I second Roger's postscript. Four years ago, S was so enamored of CMU but was deferred in ED and then denied in RD. He's now a senior at UCLA and realizes that it all worked out for the best.

Thanks a lot Mods. Especially thank you for the new forum... I love it, it helped me a lot on the process, and have made some friends here that I will defintely hang out with if I/they get in to our ED school.

Thanks for this website! It has made me more prepared for the college experience and gave me the ability to talk to other nervous ED'ers....NYU class of 2009 hopefully!
