I recently decided to change my major to nursing. I am a senior in High school, so I can still apply to more schools but don’t really know what schools to apply to. I was wondering if anybody had some suggestions as to good nursing schools? I have an 86 GPA and an ACT of 22.
It can be VERY hard to get into BSN programs these days. How strong are you in sciences? What is the breakdown of your ACT?
What is your home state? What is your budget for college (how much will your parents pay)?
Since many kids start out as nursing (or pre-nursing), but end up not having the grades to continue, be sure to pick a school where if you have to change majors, you can.
Pennsylvania has many direct entry nursing programs, at both private and public colleges/universities, some of which have less competitive admissions. Specific entrance requirements are often posted on individual schools’ websites. Since nursing is currently a very popular major, nursing programs at some schools may already be filled for next year. You will need to check with individual colleges as to whether they are still accepting nursing applications. You may also want to post your question in the Nursing major forum.
