good places to eat around cornell?

can sum1 tell me about some good places to eat in the area?

wayyyyyyyy too many to list. What type of food are you looking for?

John Thomas Steakhouse, Moosewood, The Pines (for the burger), Boat Yard Grill, Carriage House (brunch), Taste of Thai, Plum Tree, Miyake’s, Stella’s.

“wayyyyyyyy too many to list”
thats all i needed to hear LOL
ok so food wont be an issue i assume

Hot Truck is all you need

Hot trucks sucks. Louie’s is much, MUCH better.

any good japanese sushi places?
is there a mcdonals lol?

Plum Tree and Miyaki are right in Collegetown. They’re both good, but I preferred Miyaki.

There are 2 McDonald’s. One by the mall, so you could use the bus to get there. The other is on Route 13 way past Walmart. Can’t easily get there without a car.

lol dam mcd is far
do buses come often?
also are these places reasonable (price wise)?

You want to eat McDonald’s, at Cornell?

That’s… terrible. :(

I had a friend at Cornell who, if we wanted to go off campus for food, would only eat at McDonald’s or Taco Bell. It was awful.

I never took the bus to the mall, so I’m not familiar with its schedule. Lunch at Plum Tree was very reasonable. You could get a bento box for $7-$10. Dinner was more expensive, but not too bad.

“You want to eat McDonald’s, at Cornell?”
lol dont get the picture that im fat lol
i dunno for others, but for me, mcd is like my safety place to eat
if that makes sense lol

if you are visiting campus this summer things are going to look different than during the school year - try to find an open campus dining hall to eat at once during your visit - then perhaps eat somewhere in Collegetown - perhaps Collegetopwn bagels, perhaps downtown at Moosewood, world famous (honest) vegetarian restaurant - google it to found all the cookbooks that people buy…people who have otherwise never heard of Ithaca NY. These will give you some flavor of Cornell/Ithaca - eating at MacD’s won’t.

If you apply and get accepted, you will mostly eat Freshman year with your friends at the North Campus dining halls…and during the day on campus. Weekends might include all the other options the above posters recommend

as a student (im applying next year)
oh yea im def not planning on eating at restaurants every day. as you said, at most prob only weekends.
how are the foods at the dining halls?

oh and as far as i know the only 24hrs place open is the short stop deli in downtown ithaca…

the reason that mcdonalds is basically outside of ithaca city limits is because of the liberal tree hugging hippies’ distate for the MNC…

***** protectionism if you ask me!

24hrs - short stop, green cafe (c-town), state diner

oooH!!! right i forgot that green cafe jsut opened XD

although i think they have a limited selection at night.

and state diner is sketchy at best esp. at night :</p>

green cafe is really good even at night. they keep their buffet up but stop selling smoothies and stuff like that.
You will not need mcds at cornell. or even taco bell for that matter. there are soo many good places to eat it makes no sense to eat fast food.

they’re decent but you cant beat the price at mcdonalds or taco bell…i believe in free markets…

sarita…what is the green cafe buffet like; what offerings? does it cost by the pound?

lolll so many mcd haters
is it me or did mcd step up their quality?
