^ well good luck anyway

Last year there were 3400 apps (according to another poster here), but the application was open for a longer time (mid-Feb).

I applied for the Bold Program as well and it said the deadline for applications was Jan. 1 but then they decided to extend it to Jan. 8th.

So after they review all the applications they will be contacting people through e-mail to confrim there phone numbers then calling them in early Febuary but then there’s a second round of interviews which are in person if you apparently pass the first one.

But my goodness 3,400 applicants sounds like a lot but I could believe that since people are applying from all the states so it has to be a large number.

I did a internship at Microsoft and there process was the same way too. First there was a phone interview, then in person meeting with recruiting member, then at Microsoft itself with 4 people interviewing you and a essay section!

Does anyone know what the interviewing process for this program will be like? And how housing will work?

Thanks

It says that you can apply to the Bold Program for Google even if your not in the US and they will interview you over the phone.

Let us know when the phone calls start coming!

Thanks for posting the video. It was super helpful!

^ you’re welcome.

The video said that the selection process is 2 back-to-back 30 minute interviews and that’s it. I might have misheard though…

housing info is given after you get in (obviously)…you get a relocation stipend and then google gives you possible places to stay that are near its shuttles.

Hey!

So I applied for the Bold Internship recently and they said were going to find out about the status of our application by early or mid Febuary. So I wanted to know from the people that did this program last year or anybodys opinion of what the empolyers are looking for in a candidate?

Like what makes someone say unique or different for this internship from another?

Thanks!

The automated message I got said we would be hearing back in January - anyone get January too?

The biggest thing I heard (though of course I didn’t do the program last year) was they’re looking for Googliness - what that means is up to you.

I bet if you researched it and read the “Google student blog - diary of a student intern” and read Atima Lui’s BOLD blog, you might get to know more about the program.

I just e-mailed them a few days ago and this is what I got:

Q: What is the timeline?

A: We’re currently reviewing applications. Students will be contacted by email if they’re selected for an interview. We’ll notify students not selected as well, and this will take place on a rolling basis as we review applications. We will not provide status updates on our review process. All candidates who apply by January 8, 2011 will be notified by early February of their application status.

Thanks for the blogs! I checked those out they were helpful in talking about what the experience is going to be like.

And I thought the application deadline was Jan. 8th too but looks like they extended it again since it says Jan. 10th now on the website! Do you think they will even start the application process by early Feb?

Lets just cross our fingers and hope that some phone calls start coming in soon.

I got a Call today and did the interview!!! Going to to round 2!!!

Just Kidding. lol

HAHA!

I knew it was a joke when I saw how big the post was…>_<

Darn! And I thought it was all real. Way to boost our confidence House of London.

Sorry guys. Had to do it.

And ammara18, if someone else posted it and it was real I would s*** my pants because I did not hear.

Haha its okay. Hopefully everyone hears back very soon! I’m getting very impatient myself but the time till Feb. should pass by fast.

Hey guys!

I actually had a non Bold Program related question if thats okay. I’m trying to start up a travel website and am looking for a unique name with meaning.

My target auidence would be from 18-35 yrs old.

I would be putting together great travel package deals and just trying to simplify the process for the consumer.

Any ideas??? Thanks in advance:)

Hopefully we don’t have to wait that long, im dying to know if I got an interview.

^ me too ivey12 I’m dying to know too…

@ ammara - no idea - simplicity? Travel simply? that’s all i can think of now…

Okay thanks aikomidori for the ideas!

Anyone have any clue as to what the interview questions would be like? Or the pay? I was interesting in doing financial analytics.

Also, what school does everyone go to and what are they studying?

I am at NYU Stern School of Business double majoring in Finance and Marketing
