I GOT MY APPOINTMENT.............HALLEUJAH.........I AM PUMPED MAN, I AM PUMPED. Said it would be in the mail in two days...............

Huge congrats!!!! Well done!

Sweet!
Congratulations. Keep your nose clean for the rest of your senior year, keep your grades up, and get in the best shape possible for plebe summer.
:-)

Start running and congratulations. It's Orders Assignment/Ship Selection Night tonight for USNA Class of 2008! Your four years at USNA will go by in a flash!

WOO HOO! Now, get your parents to buy lots of Bubble Wrap and Duct Tape.

Awesome!

Congratulations!! But, don't expect the binder to come really fast. When I got a call from my congressman, it took 2 weeks from the date he said the academy would mail it for the binder to come to my house. For a little bit I actually thought that the call from the congressman was a dream, until I emailed my Regional director and he confirmed.

Don't worry about the running, I am Captain of my track team and we just started the season Monday. I will be running 5-6 days a week until about 7 days before I day. I generally do about 5 miles a day, during season, I cut it back to 3 since I compete in the 400 meter. Right now I am running on air.....this feels so good. Dreams come true. Grades have not been a problems, but I am not going to slack off, I know what is facing me next August, and it is not going to be like High School, in no shape form or fashion. Believe it or not I am actually looking forward to the physical part of Plebe summer. I love to run, move, get it going. I am pumped.

I know it may take some time to get the actual binder, but I checked Dodmerb and it shows admission status change TODAY.......so I will wait by the mailbox to see the real deal.

holy crap! i've been reading a lot and posting a little on this forum, and after reading this thread, I decided to check my own CIS file (and more importantly, the DoDMERB webpage and the Admission Status Change Date)...I just noticed that instead of 30-AUG-2007 is says 21-FEB-2008! Does this mean that I've been accepted!?! I haven't received a call from a Congressman or anything like that, but should I be looking in the mail for my Big Blue Binder???

midshipman2012-

Last time my CIS file changed (dates), It meant my package was reviewed that day and I was notified later that I had been accepted- just my case. Hopefully thats the same for you. I can't wait for July 2nd.

Congrats GNBA. Welcome to the class of 2012. -Go Navy!

trackattack....thanks for the info..hopefully my binder is on the way! by the way, i can't wait for 2 July either!!! i'm so pumped baby i'm on an adrenaline rush now...i'm ready to get to Annapolis!!!

Midshipman2012, not all accepted applicants get calls from their congressman, it depends on who your congressman is and if calling the appointees is part of what he does.

and welcome to the "family". And best of luck to midshipman2012. :) I can't believe that it was 4 years ago already that we were going through these things in our house. Now it's much simpler with my senior son who is set on a school not USNA. Have a wonderful end of senior year and enjoy yourself with your friends and family.

I do think if your status changed in Dodmerb today that is VERY good news. My Dad and I had a long conversation after the news. He did in my opinion a good job of "grounding" me and making sure that I understood just what I have accomplished. This has been one of a bunch of these type conversations between he and I. I really appreciate my parents help in this long and very emotional process. They want the best for me. I will not let them down, nor will I let down my Country when I am a Naval officer. I am so excited and driven to succeed and look forward to the exceptional competition that I face. Pumped, just Pumped.......that's where I am......and on I day, I WILL be ready...........I know that I will get "down", I know that there will be good days and bad days, but my eye is on the end game, graduation and service to my Country........that is what it is all about. Look forward to meeting my fellow midshipmen in July.....Just ask for GNBA.

I'll be looking for GNBA during the AC-year... 2010 is waiting.

I remember being on CC before I came to USNA wondering what it'd be like, and trust me, it's not as hard as it's made out to be.

It's hard to imagine that 2010 will be in training roles next year when it seems like plebe year just ended for us. Congrats GNBA, I remember having similar talks and it's good to see some "motivators" locked and loaded for I-day.

Attack plebe summer and make good impressions. Basque in your glory and fame for these last couple of months, then get ready for the biggest, but most rewarding challenge of your life.

hell yeah GNBA!!! i'm in the exact same boat as you! My Congressman just called me yesterday to let me know that my package is in the mail! ohh baby i'm on a crazy adrenaline rush!

My Congressman never called to let me know I was getting the appointment. My Dive Coach did, though, so that's good at least. :o)
When everyone is talking about their status changing, is that the DoDMerb status? Since I was Qualified right off the bat, my status wouldn't have ever changed, right?
