i wanna cry....should i appeal cuz i'm so close to that stupid cut off point. my score was last years cut off points :( :( :(

have u talked to ur counselor about this?

he or she will give u best advice

Casper,

Let it be a passing memory. I'm sure you will be happier at other UCs.

i missed the cutoff by 15 points, but i can appeal because i didn't include some of my summer school grades. I really hope i get in, at this point with no changes i have a 7468

i think this would definetly get you in as it would raise your gpa and gpa counts the most in the score

i do have a question though, do they weight grades differently if you get a 3.7 at a ranked public school versus a meidiocre school

anyone know the out of state cut-off for computer engineering?

i had 7,390--cut-off 7,452.............that ****es me off

i had 7,390--cut-off 7,452.............that pi)sses me off

wow...ahahaha.... we're all so close.. I had a 7,398... the counselor at SD said my GPA killed em...

I think i have a lot of reasons to appeal. I'm pretty sure i have a disorder that I haven't gotten a diagnosis. I wrote it in my essay but apparently it wasnt specific enuf for them, for they only gave me 166 pts for hardship for something that affected my study a lot. Since the disorder lasted since last year til now, iono if thats considered "new compelling info" -,- I'm thinking of telling my doctor 2 write me a diagnosis or recommendation...

Also i worked a lot the past 4 years cuz my parents refuse 2 pay for my tuition n other stuff. So waz the pt of being in middle income family wen i get no help? They said my income has to help the family, well then who helps me w/ my tuition? i'll have 2 work 2 pay my EFC anyway.

My uncle who was very close 2 me just died last year (i sent him $$ 2 treat cancer outta my work $$) anyway should i use all these for the appeal?

Lastly (i dont think this works), but i put a lot of community service hours into club hours which count nothing instead of putting it separately that would earn me pts. shoudl i even write this.

I called in SD n they ladies were a lil not very nice -,- they gave me the attitude that i was bothering them asking for pts or something.

Ehh, I would have been at least 50 points above the cutoff had I reported my income, but whatever...... I stopped caring long ago.

anyone going to appeal UC Berkeley?

i have a question.... what if you have a high GPA and test scores, have taken more classes than recommended (lets say 20-30 extra semesters), and have taken SAT prep courses. lets say this would make your score around 7500-7600. however, if you have no ECs/volunteer could you still get in for your academics alone?

spoofy: yes

ucsd is weird... or maybe b/c he's out of state: my friend's cousin from arizona got rejected from uc riverside and uc santa barbara and accepted into uc san diego!

i do not believe turambar is bluffing either. i think he is my friend from school. if not, then someone else has identically scores as he.

hehe, yes i know turambar also..(nice name by the way LOTR ;) ?) Is that you chao?
