GPA: 3.40; SAT:1730. Do I have a chance?

My SATs are in their lower range, but my gpA.. eh...

I do have an upward trend though, if that helps.

What about your EAs? Ethnicity?

What do you mean by EAs?

And i am black, so I am sure that helps a lot.

i had a 3.4 and a 1980 and i got deffered when i applied EA

well that answers my question..

yah i applied EA and got deferred with a 3.663 and 1140/1740 sats

Bump...........

Im new here and have similar stats. I will be applying RD so I pray I get in, I've always dreamed of living in NY

i was accepted EA with 1200....or 1790 out of 2400

I had an upward trend in my grades too and I was accepted. keep the good grades coming.

I had a 3.3 GPA and a 28 ACT
Plus your ethnicity will help you
Good luck

PatM, i got deferred with a 1180/1760. wat was ur GPA/rank/SAT IIs?

gpa: 4.0+ weighted ; 3.95 unweighted
rank: 7/250
no sat IIs

I had a 3.38 unweighted (4.9 weighted) and an SAT of 1830 and I was accepted. However, I'm also taking five APs this year and took 4 last year. This year my only non-APs are band, and tutoring. So, that might have played a part in my acceptance. Also my class rank is 67/700 or so. (It might be 600 I can't remember)

Either way you probably stand a chance.

but it is not living in NY
especially the neighborhood near the school is a hellhole
the campus is unbelievable though

theres a shot, not like a major reach

"especially the neighborhood near the school is a hellhole"
??
Fordham has 2 or 3 campus... You are talking about the one in Bronx?
They have one in Lincoln Center... which seemed pretty good.

If you live outside of the Tristate area, you generally have a better chance at getting in.

The Bronx in general is a bad place but the neighborhood around the Rose Hill campus is nice and safe. Lincoln Center is, well, NEW YORK CITY, nuff said

I was probably being generous in calling the neighborhood AROUND the campus a hellhole - theres literally like barbed fences and rundown apartments. The campus however is really really nice, one of the better one's I have seen.

I thoroughly enjoyed living in the Bronx and would not want to have had it any other way.
