GPA:4.45(w)SAT 2000-Should I apply U of Mass-Amherst for Safety

<p>Hi. I posted several days ago, and I need some advice from yall.
I though my GPA is 4.1(w), but yesterday I asked couselor and found out GPA 4.45(w)!!!
I'm retaking SAT shooting for 2000(or above..hopefully...)</p>

<p>So..the question is should I apply U of Mass-Amherst for safety? I mean, I don't really want to go to univ of mass,but for safety reason..</p>

<p>Only 15% of the undergrad population at UMass Amherst is out of state, so I don't know if it's a "safety" for an out of stater.</p>

<p>I also define "safety" differently, though - I define safety as a school you are almost assured of getting into and that you would be happy going to. The latter half is the more important piece, and you're missing it.</p>

<p>So, to sum up, if you don't want to go to UMass Amherst, it's not a safety for you.</p>

<p>Why are you applying only to one private school and the rest publics?</p>
