Gpa

does anyone know if princeton recalculates GPA w/o freshman year and electives?

they recalculate GPA w/ freshman year, w/o electives, and B+ are considered A's.

yeah you would think they would...some of these schools have GPAs that I can't understand...what's with the GPAs like 101 and 96.5?

grades are given out of a 100% and they average all of them together
for example 50 question on a test, two wrong would give you 96% etc etc

where did you get that B+'s are considered A's?

Yeah, that doesn't make sense as B+'s are usually considered B's in schools that don't take note of +'s and -'s.

Wait, I thought Princeton didn't look at freshmen year grades?

They look at them, they just don't "consider" them. Whatever that means.

Do they even recalculate the gpa? Seems like a lotta work..

B+ are called "grade slips" (this is directly from the admission office) so ...ook. what i am trying to say here is that having 1 or 2 B+ isn't going to hurt you.

WAT B+ CONSIDERED AS As?!

What are B+s anyways? 87 and up? 88 and up?

Anyway, if they DID count as As, then I won't be scared of Bio II this year.

I heard that all A range grades were A's (on this board) to them, but that doesn't make sense to me, as it would eliminate practically all differntiation between top flight acedamic candidates (for instance, my somewhat weaker GPA would be equalized to my class Valedictorian's).
