Whew! Squeezed those A-'s!

F*** ALD. don't mind me, i'm just bitter. ;)

yup...called it, 2 A-'s. but not exactly in the classes i thought...i got a straight up A in Physics 151 (woo), A- in Calc III (even better, but probably wouldn't have happened if i didn't talk to my professor before the final). but an A- in my GE...damn!

I got an MG...umm, that's a new one :)

Looks like I'll be busy next week figuring this out, lol.

It means missing grade, happened to me last spring. It means the professor didn't turn in the grades on time so they weren't posted along with the others. You'll have to either contact your professor, wait until your STARS report updates, or maybe "grade report" will eventually update.

Yeah, I just got email from the TA. I got my final grade and he said OASIS should be updated by next week, so I'm happy :)

damnit! got a B+ in something i should've gotten an A- in...

That's the worst feeling in the world. Happened to me first semester.

So what's an A- worth? I thought it was 3.75....

well, 3.7 actually  then a B+ drops to a 3.3.

Geeze. "B+" sounds so much better than "3.3"! So a B+ average for grad schools is considered low- just crazy.

Actually depends on your major. Here in engineering a 3.3 is actually a pretty good GPA, for a long time a 3.2 GPA got you essentially guaranteed admission to the 4+1 master degree in engineering (not anymore)

^ um...then what exactly would get you into the 4+1? :D i'm curious to know because i'm seriously considering it.

It's not that a 3.2 won't get you in, it's just that it's not guaranteed anymore like it used to be. (edit: plus, I think the "official" cutoff is 3.5, but I think they said that they provisionally reduced it to 3.2 for engineering students for now)

I happen to know everything about it. I had gone through the process. The 4+1 program for Viterbi is now changed to "Progressive Degree Program." (I applied last semester and I just heard yesterday that I got accepted to grad school for electrical engineering!!!) More specifically, it is still a 4+1 program just that you need to apply for it and you must have USC GPA of 3.2 or above. Rec letters are optional and you apply usually at the 2nd semester of junior year. 3.5 is NOT cut off, but I don't know if the school going to change it in the future.

Congratulations! When I was looking into it last semester, apparently they were still working out the gpa requirements and such.

thx, jbusc. :) I am so glad I will never ever need to take GRE. And phobos, feel free to ask me any more detail questions on PDP

is the GPA they consider your overall university GPA, or your GPA in engineering classes only?

overall GPA at USC. However, it is important that you don't get anything B- or below on your major's courses, especially the upper level ones (300+). It will hurt your chance

phobos, what are you worrying about?
you just stated you had a 3.92 lol smarta$$

jkjk
