Grades this semester, Not transfer til 09'

Phil so 101 A
Music A
Psych A
Econ B
Accounting C

Now as you see the class trend you may assume I'm a Business Econ major, Which I am. You also see a C in accounting which is lame, Cause the Prof told me I was going to get at the very least a B....

Just curious If I wanted to Transfer to UCLA/UCSD/UCSB getting that C in a Pre REQ kill my chances for UCLA?

I signed that contract too. not only at least a B but also GPA 3.75 or above. As I see here, You satisfied neither of the two.

I don't think it's 100% rejection, but I would say your application will be reviewed one more time. Depending how many students did poorly in the semester.

A C will probably hurt you pretty bad in a prereq. You should do the TAP program if your school offers it. Admission to Bus Econ as you probably is very competitive.

accounting is the minor though. I would assume if I got A/B+ in calc/eng/econ It should be sufficient enough, oh well UCSB has a Good Business Econ I might even apply for Econ at CAL or philosophy at UCLA we'll see, I have options.

That's in the contract......You can do nothing about it. just wait. Maybe they won't know? good luck, man!

@ninja: 'accounting is the minor' -- no. accounting is a MAJOR pre req, major in both cases of the word. Meaning, the Business Econ major requires the accounting class, so when they calculate the Major GPA it'll be terribly low.

Can you just intentionally fail the class and retake it this summer?

class is done, so I'm done lol.

why do you want to do business econ if you don't do well in econ or accounting?

Hongda he is applying for next year so he does not have a contract yet.

don't choose UCLA. Even though you get in, you will be forced to change to another major. Because they require you to maintain GPA 3.3 or above for the following courses. If you couldn't do accounting well, I don't think you will succeed in UCLA. I suggest that pick a major you feel most confident.

oh..I didn't read the thread name..sorry...if they see a C on accounting, I don't think they will admit you. BizEcon is way too competitive.

i don't think biz-econ in UCLA is competitive after one of my friend got accepted with GPA3.4 and 3 ''W''s on transcript...

and what's more, my friend who got accepted did not have any ECs....

are you serious.....

yes i am.....that's why I feel disappointed at UCLA....

me too......maybe he wrote pretty good essay to explain the reason he got low grades?

as far as i know, she made up a series fabulous stories in her personal statement...such as talking about making money by investing.

that's what I do....I should put that on my essay??? Dang!

wow was she TAPPED? Couldn't I elaborate how poor my family is, and I've been homeless, Birth defect, Mentally challenged sister didn't allow me to study hard as a kid(at all for that matter),also had learning disability,Got held back, Dropped out beginning of JR year, with Flying colors in the HS equiv, Drug dealer dad died of aids when I was 10, conquered all that crap, make over 2k a month working 20 hours a week, I have a fine honey and big wang and doing fairly well in CCC GPA is like a 3.63 right now, could possibly make a compelling Essay???? All true btw.

I heard UCSD Is good for Biz Econ also, It's not quasi-stellar like ucla but it will do if you are able to get some good job prospects. All in all I still want to go to Grad school, Getting that C hurt my chances at UCLA so be it.
