<p>Hi
So I told my guidance counselor to go to gateway and fill out Andover's guidance rec. The next day, he told me that he refused because he didn't want to give out personal information. So I emailed Andover and asked for him to do it through mail. They agreed. Now, he says that he want me to take the forms he has to fill out and my transcripts, print them, and give it to him by hand. I emailed Andover for the guidance recs that he has to fill out, and am not sure they'll give it to me because they might think i'll forge them or something. I still emailed them anyway. If they refuse, ill give them his email so they can send it to him directly. I am so annoyed by his incompetence! Andover keeps sending an automatic reply about no admissions materials via email, and I'm nit sure they'll respond to me! I'm panicking so bad, and am not sure what to do. Any advice? Will Andover reply even though it is so close to the deadline? Reassurance, or similar stories? I'll take anything.

Why doesn’t your GC just put the forms in the snail mail, like other GCs and teachers do?</p>

<p>Because he doesn’t know what forms to fill out. You know, the thing where you say what the passing mark, failing mark, has the student ever been suspended, that kind of thing. So he asked me to get it, print it, deliver it, and then he might fill it out.</p>

<p>Why don’t you just print them from the Gateway site?</p>

<p>An applicant can’t download the rec form from Gateway. However, PDF rec forms are available from some Gateway schools, like SPS: </p>

<p>It seems your GC is being unnecessarily difficult and nitpicky. The best way to deal with such a person is to be courteous, get your business done, and move on. I know this is easier said than done, but hopefully you won’t have to deal with him in the future.</p>

<p>Don’t panick. Andover will understand. Even without this kind of situations, it won’t penalize you for something beyond your control, especially you have communicated this issue before deadline.</p>
