Haas applicants

For Haas applicants: how many units have you taken each semester and can you please post your stats?

are units the same as credit hours? I'm from PA and we have credits, each class is usually 3-4 credit hours...

I took 15 - 5 classes (Spring), 15 - 5 classes (Summer), 19- 6 classes (Fall), 20-6 classes (Spring)

Yes they are,

how much they are worth depends on wether your system is quarter or semester

because haas is semester and it looks like yours is too, 3 credit hours for you = 3 units at haas (provided they transfer)
however IF you are on the quarter system you would have to divide by 1.5 to get the number of units a class would be worth in terms of semester (haas)
as in 6 quarter units= 6/1.5 = 4 semester units

to the original poster

82 semester units over the 2 years, I cant remember how many each semester but I took some winter and summer session classes too

GPA = 3.70
1 pre req in process, the rest completed

Spring 07: 14 units
Summer 07: 13 units (9 transferable)
Fall 07: 16 units
Winter session 08: 6 units
Spring 08: 19 units

4.0 GPA
Tons of ECs
UC Essays: 6/10
Haas Supplement Essay: 8/10
No internships

Spring 07: 23 semester units (11 transferable)
Summer 07: 11 semester units (3 transferable)
Fall 07: 23 semester units
Winter session 08: 13 semester units
Spring 08: 25 semester units (5 units are Chinese Course......spend 0 hour on it)

4.0 GPA
Tons of ECs
UC Essays: 8-9/10
Haas Supplement Essay: 7-8/10
No internships

Good luck to all. You guys are crazy!!!

Haas only accept crazy people....That's what I heard.....I wish I am able to get crazier....

This just in: Hongda nominated to become new Dean of Haas!

lol, jk.

"Haas only accept crazy people"

A little too general

I can't say any more spicific.....If I can, I will apply for the Dean position instead...haha

Wow, I wouldn't be surprised if a strong hanful of the Haas applicants on here make the grade! It seems to me that the most manically motivated would be on here. I'll post my stats since that's what everyone on here is pouring through the threads for.

I'm going a little crazy waiting as a matter of fact.

GPA 4.0
prereqs IP: Macro and two breadth
regents invite UCLA (missed 2 prereqs and didn't get in, though)
regents awarded for UC Irvine

honor society president and past treasurer, vp of fundraising with loads of honor society community involvement
business club, sustainability coalition member
work for a non-profit helping at-risk peers
pro-bono tutor
Essays reviewed and consideed strong by brother at Cal (English major)

I think we should all stay positive assume that there's a correlation between going insane together on these threads and getting in :-)

my keyboard sucks

oh, duh, the reason I started this forum is my hope that my workload will help. I suppose it would be impolite to leave that out:

fall 06: 17
spring 07: 21
summer 07: 7
fall 07: 22
spring 08: 20

good luck to all~~~~Go Bears!!! Go Beers!!!!!!!!!!!

GPA: 3.96,
Micro and Macro: A (honor grade)
Math: finished 3rd quarter Calulus with all A
Stat: A+
Bus intro: A+
My school uses +/- grading system

EC:
Math, Econ, Acct individual and adjunct tutor.
Honors program assistant.
Honor Club ICC last year.
Language Art assistant (after I sent the resume, Haas doesn't know anyway T_T)
Essays: No idea, but put a lot of effort to write them.

+/- is so bizarre, ccc's need to standardize grading in my opinion.

I think the people willing to post their stats here are more self-selective than Haas in general ;-) Based on my experience with great studets blowing off ec's, at my school at least, I think these are possible examples of what makes the difference. I'm trying to be positive!

I know a person 10 times better than me, but still got rejected.(just a little bit exaggerating). I really don't know what are they looking for......do you think there is a correlation between the level of "hottness" and acceptance rate?
