"hang out" vs "go out"

When a guy friend asks you to "hang out," do you assume it is a "date?"
I asked a girl to hang out this weekend, and she said sure. Is that considered a "date?" What should I do on the first day, then?

Okay obviously this is toward a girl, not a guy. ANd This Couldbeheavn is not gay.

No, I’m not gay.

If a guy asked me to hang out, I might consider it like a date but I wouldnt say it or act like it. Wouldnt it be embarassing is a guy asked you to hang out and you considered it a date but he only really mean hang out? Yea…most girls i know think like that xD

But if you like her and you think she might like you back, the start of but flirting with her. If she flirts back, then you can go hang out more often and go on official dates. If she doesnt seem to like you back, thats fine too, cuz some people are just naturally firendly and playful so she wont really assume you like her

I think we’ll be going to the mall. What should I do there? Should I hold hand on that “date”?

A guy and I are hanging out this weekend. We aren’t a couple, and this is the first time we’ve hung out outside of driver’s ed (where we met lol). But I’m sure that (in our case) hanging out might turn into a “going out”. :P

Good to know. By the way, what should I do on my date at the mall?

Sorry but its really common for a boy / girl to hang out nowadays…to tell her its a date…you could maybe bring her flowers or something
