^ Pitt has a bunch of really good scholarships. I was considering Pitt as one of my safeties but as of now plan on applying to just my state flagship.

^yeah, that’s what I first noticed: the scholarships.

I’m just wondering here…does the 22,635 view suggest that there are around 22,635 ppl on CC who set their eyes on Harvard? Or does it include multiple clicks by one user…

^ The number of views indicates the number of views.

Lol I was clicking on it to see if it would increase… (view number) I guess there’s a lag time XD.

^ It updates about every one to two hours.

Yay tautology! :p

Bumping to revive this thread. :)

i hope i get in!! psych major here with a premed track

harvard, penn, cornell, northwestern, pitt, purdue, IU

I visited a few weeks ago. The campus is beautiful, the people are friendly, and Cambridge is the perfect college town. I love it.

Where are you guys cross applying in terms of reach schools? Princeton, Yale, Stanford anyone?

Definitely applying and Yale too!

I’ll be applying as well. A long shot, as it is for practically everybody.

I may apply to Princeton and Columbia also. I’m definitely applying to UChicago and UPenn, as well as UNC Chapel Hill. It depends on whether or not I get in early somewhere.

silverturtle, I envy your stats. You’re going to get in for sure!
& to all the Asians out there, I understand your pain. I’m Asian as well (female… even worse) and the chance of me getting in are slim because of all the extremely smart Asians, getting 2400 and whatnot. It’s so unfair. However, I will definitely try my best and if it doesn’t work out, then I will apply to med schools in my favourite schools when the time comes…

Hi again everyone; haven’t been in this thread for some time. And although my prospective major has stayed the same (linguistics), I now am extremely certain I want to do a classics minor.

I’ll apply, just to get a letter from Harvard. Of rejection :P

@fledgling,

Somebody else interested in the Classics (I think you mean Latin and Greek?)! I’m completely certain I’ll be majoring though. Out of curiosity, what drew you to Classics?

^ Well, let’s just say I’ve decided to take the less beaten path and go all out with my interest in languages. Latin is very important for understanding the development of civilization and has influenced many Western schools of thought, and as a Christian I figured knowing how to read the New Testament in the original Greek would be nice. :D

^Ah, you’re into other languages as well. How many do you know?

As a Christian as well, reading the Bible in the original Greek (or the Vulgate in Latin) would be awesome. But I was thoroughly addicted to Vergil last year, so my interest goes farther than theological curiosity. I may also study Italian, hopefully so I can read the Divine Comedy in the original. Anyways, good luck with Harvard!!! (and wherever else you may apply ;))

@RainbowSprinkles: Being born asian is not necessarily a kiss of death. Harvard’s 25/75% marks for acceptances is 2080/2370, and for the ACT it is a 31/35. So they accept plenty of students with non-stellar scores.

@sk8ergirl001: The letter of rejection might not be worth the application fee :(
