@sjsprint Tablets. Tablets everywhere lol
I’m shivering. This game is getting real good
Everyone go watch this game. Great way to pass away the time
Bruh…
@T26E4 Yeah I figured as much. Not a cool thing to do, considering the amount of nerves frayed over Ivy admissions.
Anyone know what day decisions come out
@DAIMYO March 31 5 pm EST
@ibbi1824 Your school knowing how to do even a part of your application would certainly take some stress off from you. I realised that my head of progress had uploaded the wrong documents for the school report and sent them off, so I had to do a frantic run of sending off what they really wanted. It was later I realised that, what I had sent off as a correction wash’t any better and was equally as confusing. To top it off, my GCSE ICT course work grade was a distinction which came up on the school report I sent as a D because there wasn’t space to fit a ‘Dist.’ in apparently, hahaha. 6 D’s in a row, I almost collapsed! I hope you two aren’t competing for a place in any other U.S. university?
@shiziani omg the process with teachers was SUCH a struggle! I realised they hadn’t uploaded any of the reports the DAY before the deadline, and everyone had to rush into school during the Christmas break to get it done
@shiziani omg that sounds ridiculously stressful! Did you manage to sort everything else out in time?
@elaras but once you’ve referred the teachers on to your common app when they upload materials is separate to your EA/RD deadline- a lot of my stuff was upload just after the EA deadline
@elaras One of my teacher recommendations went in on the day of the deadline and I could see that my teacher hadn’t submitted it. I’d already sent reminder emails out to my teachers, so it was too rude to send out another one specifically for that teacher. I was chewing my nails down, hoping it would be in on time haha So I feel you! Hopefully it was all well in the end?
@ibbi1824 Well, I only realised the grade error after I got deferred so I’m honestly really thankful I wasn’t rejected! I had my head of progress send the file room an email, whether they saw it or not is another matter. I’m hoping they did! It would be horrible to be penalised for something which isn’t actually true. Do you have any horror stories to relate?
@shiziani Relating possible hiccups at this stage only feeds the nervous mania of everyone. To be frank, your situation was not that serious. Once the docs were discovered to be incorrect, H would have been happy to receive corrections. No one needed to rush around during Christmas break. There wasn’t a huge delete pool for files that needed some refining on Jan 02, you know. Harvard was actually VERY happy to read your full and complete file – they weren’t looking for an excuse to eject it.
You’ll be fine. Stay off of CC for a few weeks – this isn’t bad advice for many of you and your peers.
@T26E4 I understand the point you made. I was just sharing some of my experiences because I felt they might be relatable but I apologise if it caused some to become more panicked. It wasn’t my intention at all The error was rectified from my part and I am aware of Harvard’s understanding attitude so I’m not worried that they’ll scoff and still not look at my application file. It was just a concern of mine that they didn’t actually receive the email. But what’s done is done at this point and I’ll just apologise again if I unintentionally made anyone even more panicked
no need to apologize shiziani. My perspective is from “the other side”, an alumnus of a top school, active in recruiting and interviewing. I’ve seen +20 years of nervous applicants and their struggles, happiness & disappointments. Anyone who is near viable for Harvard will 99.9% likely to have an enormously successful college career – regardless of which school will be lucky enough to confer that eventual bachelors.
Hang tough, everyone. You’ve worked hard. You deserve some time to enjoy and bask in your achievements. How about this? Look at your schedule and decide to intentionally get a C in one of your classes! hahaha Be the rebel! Freak everyone out!
Does anyone know if decisions are released through email or through portal log on?
@cvisser96 The decisions are released through your portal. They come up as a status update on your portal and you click to view it I don’t think you get an email
@cvisser96 Yeah they come through the portal:
Am I the only one who finds it weird that ivy decisions come out on a Tuesday? Usually it’s released on a Friday, so the admissions office doesn’t have to deal with irate parents for two days (in the futile hope that they’ll calm down…). I was really expecting this next Friday. At least I’m on spring break so I have a week to cry over my back to back rejections!
@ibbi1824 yeah, but none of us knew that, because they’d never helped someone apply to the US before lol
@csgoddess I’ve heard that because of all the snow days the north east received, it pushed back ivy day because for the past few years it had been where it was on or around the 27th
This is going to be the longest week of my life. X_X
