So I am going on an official visit to Dartmouth soon and was wondering what kind of things happen?
Any information is appreciated.
Thanks!

ah i’m going on one too! You go to class, practice, and chill with the team. Also, you have a one-on-one with the coaches… should be interesting

good luck on yours!

Haha, good luck on yours too!
Is Dartmouth your top choice?

My D went to one in the spring.
We never went in due to a HUGE parking issue.
Get there WELL in advance of the appointment time to find parking and expect to walk.

Good luck!

believe - it sounds as if your d went on an UNofficial. Parents don’t come to officials most of the time, and officials are overnights that are paid for by the school. I did go on an unofficial this spring, and I agree - finding parking was a bit tricky, but not hard to figure out if you knew where to go.

Dartmouth does not have “official” visits, I don’t believe. I went on a Campus Tour and Information Session when I did my college visit to Dartmouth. There, I signed my name and gave information to the school to show that I did come.
Also, Dartmouth does not allow prospective students to stay overnight, only those who are admitted.

Dartmouth does have official visits, at least for recruited athletes. My daughter went, had a wonderful visit, and will be attending next month.

Official visits are for atheletes who are being recruited. As someone else stated, the school invites a few athletes that they are very interested in and pays for the visit. My son will be doing one in mid-Sept. The visit will last three days and is for prospective student/athletes, not parents.
