has anyone gotten into a top school (HYPS ect) with one B/B+ (the rest As) on their midyear report, and not be a recruited athlete or world class something?

most likely?

The answer is YES

One B? Are you kidding me? That's madness!

jesus. for the 100TH TIME: YES YES YES.

Upward trend + solid GPA is what counts...

The OP is pretty ridiculous. I'd say stupid, but I don't want to get in trouble. So I'll imply it.

i really hate these threads.

I have multiple Bs on my Midyear.

Depends on the competitiveness of your high school and whether or not it practices grade inflation.

BTW: Mistof is an EA admittee this season into one of the schools you've mentioned. Yes this question is ridiculous

Yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes

No. It has never happened, and it never will. B's on transcripts to Harvard and Yale actually stand for Blow Your Head off Awesome, which is much better than your lowly A's. Mortals with actual B's (meaning they made a mistake) have never been offered entrance to Harvard in it's 1000 year history, and Yale's 900 (you just thought they weren't that old).

ya tons of people do, as long as youre taking a very rigorous courseload, near perfect SATs, near perfect SATIIs and 5s on AP tests along with godly ECs, and the best essay anyone could ever contemplate, then youre in

chance me at

with a B?!

you'll need a major hook, like being a martian or something.

forget about ivies, i've never heard of someone with a B getting into SCHOOL

seriously...
wth....

phys ed!!!

no. you must have perfect straight a's. in fact, if you even have one a-, that will count against you. better be doubly prepared and make sure you have all a+'s, otherwise you have no CHANCE of getting in and it's useless to keep hoping .

What's "midyear"? And what about if you get a B in fall semester during junior year?
