still says ready for review… is this a bad thing?

“ready for review” means they haven’t looked at your application yet… nothing more.

ACCEPTED PENDING FINAL RESULT!!!
So happy!!! :DDDDDDDDDDDDDDd

Did you get an email or did it just appear online?

@ verystressed.

im u dont mind telling us, what were your grades? are you doing some course or just high school?

gahhh further review required
2310 SAT, three mid-700 SAT IIs, four 5s on APs, top 10%, and feeling really crappy. especially since i’m pretty sure my older brother got in without a midyear.

all the other “further review required” kids, i feel ya!

Agreed. My son has further review requires and his stats are sky high. Feeling pretty discouraged. Why on earth??

This is why I said in an earlier post that McGill does not really have rolling admissions, at least not in the way American schools do. The McGill website says that decisions for US applicants should start coming out on January 28th. It appears that a few have dribbled out early.

@sheheryar93
not sure exactly what my gpa was because they don’t count 9th grade, but should be around A-/A. ACT score was 32, with 3 AP’s of 5’s. The weird thing is they didn’t process my midyear report but got my recommendation letter, which I sent out at the same time.
I was really surprised I got my decision this early, but I guess it’s because I’m a Canadian student in an international school.
Good luck to you all!

I don’t know why everyone is freaking out so much about the fact that their status says “further review required.”
It only means that they want to see your midyear grades to make sure you didn’t slack off during your last year of high school.
It’s nothing bad, unless you haven’t been adequately working over the past 5 months.

My application said further review required, and I was accepted last year. Don’t freak out just yet.

Hi everyone, I also sent an application to mcgill and I received my TOEFL results today. My results are : reading 29 listening 25 speaking 18 writing 24 total 96 .The score required is 90
with at least 21 in each section . I wonder if I have to retake it because of my speaking score . thanks
ps: I’m in a french high school

Hey guys
My application status was switched from ‘Ready for Review’ to ’ Review-Decision Pending’. I know this means that they cannot give me my decision now, but other than that I’m clueless. Will I be finding out soon? Am I missing a part of my application? Will I be notified when my status is change? Any help/suggestions are welcome

THANKS

Makako - if they say no part can be below 21, then I would assume this is what they mean.
I don’t think anyone here can say whether the admissions department would make an exception.

Thank you web2094 , I just thought that since I got high scores in the other sections, they could forgive my speaking score . But you’re right it’s up to the department. Are they other people in the same situation?

did anyone get rejected yet? so far it seems like ppl have only been accepted or have the “further review required”…

They wouldn’t reject anyone this early, probably not for a couple more months.

Should I send my mid-year grades? I didn’t think we had to. My thing still says Ready for Review
