Has anyone heard from NYU?

it did not say how many accpetance for stern. And I believe 4500 includes all the applicants to 9 colleges in NYU.

look at posts 395 and 396. Thats what I believe.

news anyone?

worldapart:
u live in NYC and they sent ur decision days ago, and u haven't received it yet, right?

if it is the case, i would call them again and ask to be told via phone

best of luck!

i just called to check my status on my application, and the admissions committee still hasn't made a decision yet -_-

I got accepted to NYU CAS... and rejected them. I'm staying at Rutgers, the honors program is good and I'm on scholarship there.
So uhh... you're welcome guys, I just openned one more spot for someone :P

Not really. You actually took someones spot because they would have accepted someone besides you if you hadn't applied.

I called them up today and asked them a couple of questions about the email. I also found out that they (CAS) accepted only 8% of 1850 (148) in total. And like I said before, they only have space for 85. I guess their yield (?) is low. She said that usually they accept around 30% but there was a lot (she emphasized this) more applicants than they usually get and they in fact had less spaces available for transfers as opposed to previous years since less students left NYU. Of course I dont know how much of what she said was to make me feel better but it sounded pretty straightforward and she said they are sending my an acceptance package because of the London thing. I was like "but I was rejected, right?" and she was like "yes, but no..." its retarded but whatever. Good luck

u know ..im somehow having a hard time believing that? I mean from the nyu undergrad admissions website...it has these stats posted:

Transfer Admissions

Number of Applicants: 4,090
Admitted: 31.5%

meaning last year they accepted 1288-1289 students... how can they go THAT much lower in ONE YEAR?

"I also found out that they (CAS) accepted only 8% of 1850 (148) in total."

so that means CAS is done reviewing transfer applications for this term? i know stern isn't done, and i doubt cas would be done either..

i don't understand these ing idiodic people that apply to schools knowing *ing well that they are not going to go and wind up getting in. if you're not serious about it, why the *** would you take someone else's potential spot? and the best part is that these people are smart...you'd never know...

yes i agree. if you plan on transferring to a competitive school, they should do it in the intent of actually attending if they were accpeted.

don't forget, though, that that 31.5% is for all the schools and not just CAS.

.

i know but i wouldnt think that they admit more people to stern or tisch since those generally seem to be harder? i think cas is probably the majority of admits.

Hey, I got accepted to Stern!!!

Its been a blast on this thread since the end of April...

They said they had over 4500 applicants but didnt specifu how many were accepted.

I got accepted!!! but i cant login to see my award! GRRRRRRRR

Congrats to all those who got in...
I'm still waiting for my letter...

worldapart, does the package come in big or small letter?

worldapart: Congratz!!

i told u we will both get accepted or rejected, and we got accepted!!

so when r u gonna send ur deposits, and where will u be living?

Ladala: The 'letter' if you got accepted is actually a folder with a ton of paper and info inside of it. Its more like a huge legal size white package the size of a folder.

Mauritanie: hey man, what can I say to you ? WE MADE IT!!! I am 95% confident Ill be attending Stern (still waiting for Upenn and Georgetown) but I am definitly a business major and want to go to Stern. Ill be mailing my deposit really soon. Since I am from NYC, I ll be commuting from home.

How on earth did u get the idea that we are in the same boat and that we will both get identical results??
