Hi I am trying to transfer to good colleges from a very prestigious college, however I have a very bad gpa because I took on a major which I really did not like, which I realized after a semester. So I was wondering if there were any one who has transfered to another college with a GPA of less than maybe 2.5?
Thanks

transferring to a much lower-tiered school is always a viable option.
Besides, you will have better luck at getting higher GPA there.

try changing majors within your own school first, improving your grades, and THEN transferring to another equal/slightly lower school than the one ur in now. You might end up not wanting to transfer.

What school are you in now btw??

there is no point in transfering with such a low gpa, stay at your school and work it up !!

Try transferring to a less competitive school, CC if you have to. I did the same thing last year at my old school, transferred to a CC and made Dean’s List last semester. I’m staying one more after this, and if I continue to make the grades I’m making I’ll have just under a 3.9 by the time I get my Associate’s in December. After that, I can transfer and more focus (I hope) will be on my current grades, and not the year I slipped up. Lots of students screw around their first year because they aren’t used to the freedom or academic rigor, I’m sure colleges understand that. Just do what you can to fix it!

Well if decide to transfer I would like to on my sophomore year I do want to transfer on my junior year and try to get used to the environment all over so pretty much if I do not get accepted then I would just stay at the school I am now, and I have no desire to go to CC because I worked hard to get into these colleges.
