You meet the most amazing person randomly, like out at a party, and have this really great connection. You spend the whole night talking and you both try really hard to extend the evening after the party by suggesting everyone go get food, everyone go smoke some weed, etc. etc., but ultimately it just doesn't work out because your friends are tired & drunk & don't have your best interests in mind at the time..and you know you probably won't see this person again.

It's happened to me twice in my life--once last night.

It does give me hope, though, after a really terrible breakup, that there are people out there for me.

are you like physically attached to your group of friends? why can’t you just hang out with that one special person after the party? why would you want everyone to go eat somewhere or smoke a bowl when you can just bring him back to your room?

this was a weird situation because he’s like 27 (i’m turning 20 in a month) and lives in D.C. he and his friends were randomly visiting chapel hill, where they went to undergrad & grad school. neither of us were being overly forward because of the weird age difference, but we were clearly into each other.

girls really shouldn’t just drive off to go home with guys they meet out, and to be honest, i didn’t really want to sleep with him, which is what that would have insinuated…i just wanted to talk some more because it was pretty amazing.

also i live in a dorm with a roommate so i couldn’t really take him home with me…plus it would be kind of weird to bring someone that old back to a dorm. haha
