Having a Legitimate Reason for w's

So i'm applying to UCLA, UCSB and UCSD for Fall '11. I was taking 3 classes this semester, but i had to drop two of them because my father's lung cancer returned, so i had to take close care of him. These classes have no effect on my pre reqs nor IGETC and my 60 UC units are already completed. Will UCLA look upon me badly for this? I have a 4.0 in my last 10 units and now have 5 W's.

UCLA will not look upon you badly for this if you explain them on your additional comments section or in your personal statements.

5 W’s isn’t that bad, it seems likes to me Ws are really only bad when coupled with a poor gpa. If none of the courses were pre-reqs then you should be fine. Moreover, I think you shouldn’t be worrying about that right now and that putting this in your essay will help. Take care of your father and best wishes. You have my sympathy.
I had an aunt with lung cancer; she died within 2 months of diagnosage.

thanks guys, i appreciate it :)
