Having units carry over from high school vs. units that count towards...something

Alright, so I just recently found out that I have way more units than I thought I did BUT only two of my IB classes will count towards Marshall GE's :[ What exactly is the point of the units that I got from IB testing/community college courses then? Do they just help with units needed to graduate/enrollment standing?

They seem kind of useless. Yet not? scratches head

After the first quarter enrollment times is based on how many units you have. So its better to have more.

Yep. 10char

But what if they mean that I’m going to exceed the unit cap, for, let’s say a double major (240)? Unfortunately they don’t all meet a GE requirement, so I still have to take GE’s, which means I could potentially not have enough units left to take required courses for the two majors I want to graduate with?

^I don’t think units from AP classes count towards it, but I’m not sure. I can’t find it online though and nobody answered me when I asked. I guess you could ask an advisor.

I hope so! Actually, they’re a mixture of IB credits and Community college credits. Because yeah…I think if I end up doing a double major (General Poli Sci and Lit in Writing), that’ll add up to about 232.5 units total (including what I already have). That’s sort of pushing it, haha. And I want to take seminars and stuff along the way, which are all randomly 1 unit lol.

I know. I’m crazy.
