Half of them on college board don't have any information on them regarding admissions. I'm looking into Business/Engineering, not sure which yet. What are the most reputable universities in Hawaii (not necessarily looking for a Harvard-like schools, just not a community college).

The number of “reputable” 4-year colleges in Hawaii is small: University of Hawaii, Chaminade University, and BYU-Laie.

There are also some private for-profit schools like DeVry, Argosy, and University of Phoenix, which might be acceptable/appropriate for some students.

My grandfather taught physics at UH-Manoa and I have two aunts and my mom went to UH. The school is great and although it does not have the prestige of other schools it is a reputable institution with graduate programs, research opportunities, and an excellent undergraduate education. Obviously one has to work hard to be successful and UH is one of those schools where much of the student body is not as competitive, but is still trying their best to achieve. Some programs like the oceanography department are actually quite prominent. Of course it is Hawaii and if you want a good education you’ll have to focus. It is really easy to slack off and party all the time in paradise, but people are often successful if they work hard. Only problem is there are few job opportunities in Hawaii after graduating other than tourism and military related jobs. Plus Hawaii is super expensive to travel to from the mainland or live there. Food costs double that on the mainland, especially dairy. But the multiculturalism is fantastic and eye-opening. So its you choice and your success will depend on your effort.
