Height...

Yeah i know this is weird, but how much do guys usually grow in terms of height throughout highschool. I mean, like ive nvr really had a growth spurt, i was born pretty tall. In 5th, i was 5'4, and ive grown an inch each year till now(freshman year); and im 5'9"..just out of curiosity, how much have the seniors out there grown? and how much do u guys think its possible to grow?

Side note: both sides of my family are tall; but my dad is 5'8" and mom is 5'4"

5’3" going into High School. Currently a senior and 6’2".

Mostly grew during sophomore year.

I came into high school 5’5, now I’m like 5’7 as a soph, my dad is 5’9 and my mom is 5’3. I hope to grow 2 or 3 more inches before I graduate.

Lol, I think my height patterns are almost the same as yours. I was relatively tall up until around the 6th or 7th grade, growing about an inch a year, until freshman year, where I pretty much stopped growing at 5’10". I grew about two inches total over all of high school, to my current 6’ flat. Although my pediatrician once extrapolated my adult height to be around 6’2" or 6’3". My parents are also around the heights you described.

I know a lot of kids who were much shorter than me in freshman year, but then grew like hell to be a few inches taller than me. There’s also a few kids who started out tall but then grew even taller, like this guy who was 6’0 freshman year and is now 6’7 senior year.

My mother is 5’7 and my father is 6’2

I am 5’1, and 4/9ths if you want to get technical. I’ve grown about half an inch since I started HS. I would be an inch to half an inch taller if my spine weren’t crooked. Since I have scoliosis, it’s good I didn’t grow to be my mother’s height or around there, because then I’d need a brace, or maybe even surgery. Also, it was my goal in life to be petite.

^ Guy or girl?

That’s not tall at all…

^^ Matt, she’s a girl.

Your parents aren’t tall, FYI. They’re average at best.

I grew about 4 inches while in HS and I’m a girl. One guy I know grew about 3 inches (he’s now 5’9") where as my boyfriend grew about one (6’1" to 6’2")

I started hs at 5’8". I hit the six foot mark this summer.

Came in at around 5’8" and am at 6’3" right now as a senior.

My mom is somewhere between 5’4" and 5’6" (She’s delusional about her height and swears she’s 5’9". I’m 5’8" and taller than her…)

My dad, who is also delusional about his height swears he’s 6’4"
Realistically, he’s probably between 6’0" and 6’2".

My parents have height issues…

ETA: Forgot to answer the actual question. I think I was 5’5" as a Freshman and 5’7"/5’8" as a senior.

@Jersey & romani, I think that’s why schoolisfun said “but my parents…” As in, his/her aunts and uncles and grandparents are all tall, but his/her parents aren’t.

^ Wow yea, I totally missed that.

I never had a “growth spurt” I’ve grown roughly two inches a year since 8th grade. I’m now 5’10" which is the same height as my dad and grandpa so something tells me I won’t be growing for much longer… I don’t think I want to anyway because my arms and legs are already ridiculously long in proportion to my torso.

lol i meant both sides of my family are tall, unlike my parents who are only 5’8" and 5’4" lol one of my uncles is 6’ 5" and the other is 7’ flat i believe

lol just noticed millancad “answered” jersey’s statement lol im hoping to at least break 6 foot

came in 5’10" now I am 6’3"

I came in at 5’2 and am now 5’4. Average height, I like it.

I had my growth spurt in 6th grade and I’ve probably grown only an inch in high school.

5’7" -> 5’8" ish

came in at 5’6"…leavin at 5’6" haha

came in at 5’0" now 5’6" supposed to be 6’ still

male.
