^ yeah you should be fine for financial aid - just update your schools to the CC you will go to. and for your classes- you need to take classes that match your skil regardless of your pre-reqs required. So if you get placed really low in math you just need to work your way up - no way around this, exept some schools don’t do assessments.

looks like everyone has answered ur question
but what cc are u going to?

and going through a CC has so much more to offer than going to a UC for the first 2 years to jack off.

CC - cheaper, less temptation to **** up, TAG (GUARANTEED transfer) *get more info on it at your local CC, for my cc you need a 3.5 GPA, 6 honors classes and ur in.)

my gf wanted to go to UCLA and did IB in hs but was rejected from LA but accepted to UCI UCSD etc. she ended up going to a CC and is now at USC. going to a CC will give you much more time to think about where you HONESTLY want to go. and you will meet some of the most motivated/driven transfer students. they will honestly force you to compete for an outstanding GPA

she said IB was NOTHING compared to CC or USC. IB > CC/USC, to her atleast.
if you are going to mtsac, pm me, i can help you with the honors program

^Yup, Mt Sac! Wow how’d you know :o I am pming you :D

This subject is pretty beaten to death, so I’ll make it short:

The financial reasons for going to CC are obvious, if that is important to you.

You can have a good time at CC, you cannot count on it.

Since you’ll be applying to a UC in November of your 2nd year, you will only have the first year’s grades under consideration, plus the fall update. At UCSC (and the quarter system in particular) you can complete your ENTIRE physics sequence in one year. CC’s take 3 semesters. This is true for chem, bio, and others as well. Since completion of requirements & prerequisites is typically the #1 consideration for an applicant, this may help you.

UCSC will offer a LOT of life experience, opportunities, exposure, growing-up, and culturing that no CC can ever give to you. There’s also plenty of fun to be had at UCSC. I’d say its worth going to UCSC first. If you don’t like it, you can always leave, even after one quarter.

i graduated high school with a 3.8 and i knew that i had potential to get into a better school if i transferred than right out of high school. not once have i regretted going to cc. out of high school, i was probably ucr or csulb bound, but now that i’m leaving after this spring semester, i’m UCLA bound! although i haven’t heard from LA yet, i still feel accomplished because i know i tried my best to get into the best school i could.

definitely talk to someone at a cc.

^ wow with a 3.8 ?? did you get a 1000 on the sat ? -.-

HAHA. i did take the SATs and i DID do bad, but not that bad!
