I just graduated from high school, but didn’t apply for the fall semester because I want to sit out and work/save for a bit. Anyway, I was thinking of applying to the university of alabama next spring semester because now I’m having second thoughts. I also heard it was a lot easier to get accepted into college during the spring because many of the kids at these huge universities really shouldn’t be there and drop out within the first semester leaving room available. Anyway, I’d really like to know anyone’s opinion is or if they know!! Thank you!?!?! so much

On another thread your post suggests that you’re a NMF. Is that true? If so, you need to contact Alabama IMMEDIATELY (I’ll tell you who to contact!!! Send me a PM). They probably would admit you right away and give you a NMF scholarship. You won’t get that if you wait until spring.

Are you a NMF?

Anyone with scholarship-level stats should NOT wait for spring admission. You’ll miss your scholarship opportunities.

^^^YES!! If you’re a NMF or have scholarship-level stats you should PM mom2collegekids right away. Do not hesitate. Do not pass Go. Do not collect $200. PM mom2college kids right away. She will take care of you like you won’t believe.

I don’t know if this student is an NMF or not - her other post suggests that she is, but I’m not sure.

But, either way…if she has high stats, then it’s not a good idea to wait until spring because the scholarships are only for incoming freshmen in the fall.

I don’t know why she feared applying for fall. If she has, at least, decent stats, she would have been accepted.

To clear things up, no I do not qualify for a merit scholarship. I thought I might qualify because well I was dreaming… lol. But after talking to my family some more they are willing to pay out of state tuition because they feel that it’s some of the best money spent. Anyway, I have another question that I put on another post. Does anyone know if Alabama even accepts incoming freshman during the spring…? I know some schools don’t, but I was hoping Bama did.

Yes, you can apply for admission for fall, spring or summer. Whether, you’ll get accepted, well, everybody UA admits can’t possibly be a national merit scholar, so I think if you’re at least above the minimum requirements, you’ll be fine.

AH, that’s such a relief!?!?! Thank you so much feenotype. I do meet requirements for the most part and I’m applying out of state which gives me a higher chance. However, I did fail a class, but I retook it and got an A. So that really looks bad, but I know alabama isn’t all that picky choosy. So I hope they accept me because it looks like an awesome school!

Olivia…

What are your stats? What is your overall GPA and best sitting SAT (Math + CR) or ACT score?

Don’t worry if you failed a class.

Would you want to come to school this fall? If your stats are decent enough, maybe you could still get admitted for fall. I’m almost certain that you can get admitted by spring, but possibly by this fall, too.

You can PM your stats to me if you prefer. I can help you with all of this. :)
