I have to make my decision before 5/1/2011 so i only have about a month left. I am currently deciding between SUNY Binghamton, SUNY Stony Brook, and SUNY Albany. I got into each school for Computer science. The thing is, im not entirely sure what i want to be majoring in. My other interest at the moment is business. I heard Binghamton's School of Management is phenomenal and one of the top undergrad programs for business. But i got into the School of Science and Engineering (Thomas J. Watson) for Binghamton. Would it be possible to switch my field of study? Anyone know anything about Albany or stony's business/comp sci programs? Money isn't a big issue so i want advice about the academics, social life, night life, overall lifestyle, etc.
THANKS FOR TAKING YOUR TIME AND READING THIS.

I have some experience with each of the schools you’re talking about, although I was denied from Binghamton lol. Binghamton’s SOM is amazing, and I have many friends who are in it. It is possible to transfer into the SOM but you need something like a 3.5/3.8 GPA to transfer in. So if you’re confident you can achieve that then go for it. Computer Science there is great too. Business isn’t too great at Stony Brook, but Computer Science is, and it’s a good school. Albany is decent in both, but I’d easily pick Stony Brook or Binghamton over Albany. So if I were you, I’d go:

Binghamton
Stony Brook
Albany

Binghamton is just an overall great school, for whatever you want to do in life. You got accepted and you should be proud of it because nowadays it’s not easy at all.

Agree with blitzing all the way. Very true about transferring to business major, though.

I see. Thanks for your input. I made my decision and I will be off to Binghamton this fall. :)
