Help me =( HORRIBLE Mid-year report

Hey guys!

I'd like to request some advice about grades please :/. My GPA has been relatively good 9-11th grade (3.93 unweighted), but my senior year mid-year report is looking pretty crappy right now. It looks like 5 A's (including all AP's), 2 B's, and an ugly C+ in P.E. My PE grades were what dropped my GPA in the past but I've never gotten a C before (school weighs anything 70-79.9 as a 2.0). That being said, it looks like senior year first semester will have about a 3.5-3.6 GPA. I have no excuses, since the fact that I'm a terrible athlete and fitness is 20% of the grade.

My top choices are the super selective colleges, like Pomona, Rice, Duke, Vanderbilt, and Amherst. How badly will this hurt my chances, considering everything else has stayed consistent? =(

Thanks so much for your help!

Wow I am sick of reading these posts where the person says their grades are terrible when they are not. 5 As? That’s not terrible. Colleges will overlook one C. I don’t know what you got the Bs in, but I think you are fine.

You cannot seriously fear that a college is going to have second thoughts about your academic qualifications because you got a C in gym.

Colleges do not consider PE grades for admission. You’re fine.
