Money is a slight concern... can hardly afford full tuition at NYU, but family is not destitute
I would likely be toward the latter end of the spectrum at Stern, but a competitive student at UNC.

Both have powerful business programs... one is SIGNIFICANTLY more expensive than the other. Hmm... All opinions are welcome :D

UNC nobrainer re the $$. No only is NYU more expensive, your Cost of Living will be too. I know kids who went to NYU and it’s really mixed how they liked it or not.

It doesn’t particularly have better reputation/prestige, in my mind. NYU be higher ranked yada yada, and I’m not looking it up, but UNC is sufficiently highly regarded that it doesn’t matter. Small ranking differences amoung the nation’s top colleges are pointless. What matters is how good a student you are and if you are in an environment that allows you to thrive. And not use up your parent’s retirement or take on debt any more than necessary.

try applying to both…
obviously NYU Stern is known all over… and you can apply for aid… though you wont get much since they dont meet full need… you can still get some percentage…
so it might end up being a little more expensive than UNC …

well does it matter to you how close you are too school? anyway,NYC is great and you have endless opportunities. yes, nyu does have a great reputation and instant connections with the city, especially if your in stern. but im sure UNC has great alumni connections and other connections too.
