is is possible, anywhere on this great big earth, to raise a 3.5 GPA to a perfect 4.0? I have been told that the highest I could ever get is 3.99 or something, even if I got all A's for all eternity
Off to kick myself for ruining my life

it ain't that bad to not have a 3.5 gpa. but mathematically it's impossible to get a perfect 4.0 gpa. if you mean 4.0 weighted gpa, then that's a little different

It is mathematically possible (technically) to get a 4.0 if you received enough of them to make the 3.7s insignificant (in other words, you'd have like 3.999999, which would be rounded to a 4.0... again, technically.

I don't know how you school does it, but usually if you have over a 95 average you have a 4.0. If your school works like that, then it's definitely possible.

thanks guys
i see a faint ray of hope!
it is true that i've never heard of a 3.99 GPA,
so off to pull straight A's for 3 more years

i can't wait until college so i can start over -

btw, does anyone know if the grades for any college courses that you take while in high school, and then get credit for when you are admitted to college, will affect your GPA?

It's like a limit in calculus.

Oh God, math pervades every aspect of my life.

Good luck. I'm in a similar situation!

In general, the college courses wouldn't count, because the grades are from a separate institution, but I suppose it depends on the situation.
