Help transferring to NC State/Georgia Tech for engineering?

Hey everyone, how likely is it that I could get in to NC State’s comp. engineering program? My current gpa at Catawba valley community college is a 3.8. I’ve ended the last two semesters with a 4.0, I’ll earn an associates in science this semester, and I’ve been using NC States minimum requirements as my guide to which classes I’ve taken.

So far I have:
Precalc alg. - A
Precalc trig. - A
calculus I - A
Calculus II - A
General Chemistry I - A
Calc based physics I - A
American gov. - A
English 111 - A
English 112 - A
Chinese 1 - A
Chinese 2 - A
Biology 1 - B
Biology 2 - B
World civ 2 - B

This semester:
Calculus III
general Physics II
Art appreciation
Music appreciation
College transfer success

I got deferred as a freshman and already had 40 of these college credits, so I’m worried about it happening again. Also if I wanted to go to Georgia Tech, how difficult would it be to transfer into their comp. Engineering major? They seem to have the same pre reqs as nc state.

Georgia Tech is way more competitive. I got rejected from there for freshman admission with a 33 ACT and great grades. NCSU is supposed to be a safety school for me although I’m still nervous about getting in. You’ll probably get into State. Your GPA is above the average of 3.5.

Yeah I know Georgia tech is more competitive but I thought there transfer admission had a much higher acceptance percentage, around 50%, than their freshman acceptance. Is that true?

It says on their website that it’s 33% for transfer applicants.

Oh okay, I pulled it from here

http://www.collegetransfer.net/GeorgiaInstituteOfTechnologyMainCampus/TransferProfile/tabid/145/Default.aspx

It says 1599 applied and 811 were accepted

The GA Tech transfer stats are probably a little bit warped by the Regents’ Engineering Pathway Program. If you want to have the best chance of transferring to GA Tech, you should attend one of the REPP schools.
