<p>I’ll probably study a little bit. I’ve never studied for a standardized test before so it should be interesting…at my school, it’s usually taken by juniors, but some sophomores took it this year. I don’t know when I will.</p>

<p>I’m doing the former sat test book thing</p>
<p>I’m just Going to study from SAT books and stuff and just ignore the essay material. I wil probably take it sophomore year then again jr bc you can’t qualify for national merit until your a jr. Then take my SAT nov of junior year or dec. if I’m not happy again in the spring.</p>
<p>this is really unrealistic, but i want to get a lot of my testing done sophomore year… i will probably take my SATs in April/May, study again for the NMSQT in junior and re take if necessary in the fall/winter. this is so then i can focus more on junior grades.</p>

<p>So, what’s the difference between the PSAT and the actual SAT? I’m taking the PSAT next year, will I be okay if I just study SAT materials?</p>
<p>^^^PSAT is a practice test. it does not have an essay like the SAt does and I believe the math is also easier to accommodate sophomores and juniors who have completely algebra two and stuff. Study with sat books and ignore essay material. No need to buy seperate materials for the PSAT. When you study for the Sat you will cover PSAT info</p>
<p>@Meander it is the same as the PSAT. However you can only qualify for national merit if you take the test junior year. Soph doesn’t count</p>

<p>Asians and Pacific Islanders are ineligible. I’m not sure about Native Americans either, but I’m pretty sure it is Latinos, Hispanics and African-Americans</p>
