High school class of 2016

I guess a better question would be what is your favorite food to eat?

He didn’t profile. He simply responded to a question asked to him by the responder. He also did not disobey police. The responder told him it was not necessary to follow Martin. The responder testified in court specifically that it was not an order because if it was, the responder would be held personally responsible, so he specifically did not give an order, only a suggestion that it was not necessary to follow on foot. Also, I think it is safe to assume that it was not just a minor tussle since Martin was on top and seemed to be throwing blows (and that testimony is coming from a state witness, not a defense witness) and there were also horrid screams through a 911 call that would only come from a person who thought their life was in danger. I think that justifies self defense. The thing is, in Florida, the bar is set very low for self defense. It truly is a tragedy that Martin lost his life, but it seems to me that he somehow must have brought it upon himself. There really are no real winners, but Zimmerman is being portrayed as a monster when I don’t think he should be.

Also, are we not allowed to discuss this or something? I’m not trying to make this a discussion on the trial, just explaining my views a bit more since it seems I probably should have clarified. Sorry about that.

And I personally like bake at home pizza! :D

Absence of evidence is not evidence of innocence.

^Exactly. Well said… I’m surprised that all six jurors unanimously voted that he should be acquitted. I assumed there would be some controversy among them, but I guess after 16 hours of deliberation they decided that they would vote the same. Do you guys think the prosecution will appeal?

Anyway, I like pizza and other unhealthy foods! :)

Pwalsh: that was the only thing.that calmed me down after the verdict. But for some reason the Defense Attorney said he “proved Zimmerman’s innocence” which rubbed me the wrong way. He didn’t win the case (he was a pretty rude & cruddy lawyer) the Prosecution just couldn’t prove it. Hopefully Martin’s family can find some solace sometime.

And I like Fried Shrimp/Catfish

can somebody help me out? my teacher wants me to run for DECA president this upcoming school year. does anybody know what you do in each DECA meeting? i know its about marketing/business but i don’t know what kinds of activities you do in that club. thanks!

meh, i just like working in a lab during the summer. i am doing research right now for the mechanisms of a specific receptor and its ligand, EphB4 and ephrinB2, for angiogenesis research. We will get a paper published by the end of the summer. I also want to begin my own independent research too.

As for summer programs, I really like RSI but I have no chance of gettig in xD I also like the Smith College Women in Science Program (my friend who got into Yale went there and said it was fun) Ah, I will see later on once I develop my interest …

So beyond reasonable doubt means nothing…?

Remember, Zimmerman was charged with 2nd Degree Murder, which includes a strong intent to kill. Zimmerman was charged with trying to kill Martin on purpose, just that he didn’t premeditate it.

As for Zimmerman, he is hurt no matter what. People are having senseless riots and his reputation is gone. His life will be changed forever

Prosecution won’t appeal because they have no backing to their case. And I think some of you guys are too quick to give Martin the benefit of the doubt because he’s dead. I mean, it’s awful what happened to him and I’m not trying to disrespect, but I can’t take his side in the case. I mean, the only injury that Martin had was the bullet hole. No punches seemed to have landed from Zimmerman. Zimmerman obviously had injuries, and trayvon didn’t stop when told to by John good. That is self defense to me. And to the person who thinks that mark O’Mara was a bad lawyer, I personally find him very good. He is very cocky as you see by his dialogue in and out of court, but he is extremely good at his job, and I personally think that he did excellent in this case.

@Catsby:

That’s pretty cool! I’m doing research on MS-1/Lynch Syndrome as well as I am doing therapeutic phlebotomies [Hemo-Oncology!]

As for summer programs, I have a lot, so I might want to hold on to that for another post

@autoexec:

Yeah I agree. I think this case only became part of the media’s attention after it was falsely reported that Zimmerman was white and that Trayvon did not attack Zimmerman

Overall this case makes me very disappointed with the biased, factless and opinionated journalism/media of today.

For example: <a href=“- YouTube”>- YouTube;

Which post were you referring to with the reasonable doubt comment Apollo?

I guess the one from pwalsh and the ensuing posts that agreed with the poster…

Also, how are you guys? Anything change over the summer?

I heard about that on the radio this morning on my way to football practice. I thought it was borderline insulting to the way the Korean culture gives names. But in all honesty I think it was intended as a harmless joke. As whether it should be taken more seriously than intended I think should be left up to the Korean community as it is they who are being insulted.

It was fake names that were meant to sound like Korean but actually sound (somewhat) funny in English right? That’s what I personally picked up from it. Correct me if I’m wrong :P

^Apparently the NTSB [National Transportation Safety Board] said it.

A US Government agency. These people are also responsible for countless lives…

However, I do see how it likely started as a joke, but it was not a smart idea. People died in that crash and the crew members were heroes, saving many people.

This is not the way to treat people.

Also, the names were meant to be pronounced to sound like English words.

Example:
Captain Sum Ting Wong= Captain Something Wrong [Captain, Something is Wrong]
Wi Tu Lo=We too low [We are too low]
Ho Lee = Holy * [Self-Explanatory]
Bang Ding Ow= Sounds made when the people crashed.

Ohhhhh I completely missed that. I thought they were just trying to throw in words that in English would sound silly. (Ho, ***) I didn’t realize they made it into appropriate phrases like that. Actually now that you have pointed that out, it seems a bit too far.

^I think it was too far for the federal government to do.

Especially since the US was responsible for getting a Korean Airways plane shot down over Russia during the Cold War…

Do you guys watch Big Brother?

^No, but I’ve heard of it.

Also, are you applying to NSLI-Y? I think I saw you on one of the threads and your username…well it’s pretty self explanatory

I just brought it up because there’s a lot of racism on the show this season.

LOL, yes I am applying to NSLI-Y. Are you?

Definitely!

That and CBYX and YES Abroad!

I’d probably do Russia or Turkey, but IDK
