AP World History, Health, Speech, IB-Prep Physics, AP Government, Bible as Literature, IB-Prep Chemistry, IB-Prep Algebra II, Japanese II, IB-Prep English 2.

freshman GPA=3.75

^Wow, that’s a lot lol Your sophomore classes are basically my junior year classes (well sort of) Good luck in those classes!

Don’t want to answer my own question but lol Im taking alg 2 honors, regular English, regular European history, Chinese 3 honors, biology honors, creative writing honors, child development and gym haha

Easy Coast all the Wayyy! ATL specifically. I’m taking AP Bio, AP World, Honors Geometry/Precalc, Honors Spanish 2, Honors Chemistry, and Honors 10th literature. My teacher has totally changed the way he is conducting AP Bio and I love it! For example, he doesn’t feel homework should be graded because its supposed to help you, not penalize you.

I’m from the east, Boston area specifically and I feel like I’m the only one in my school who cares/puts effort into their work. But I agree with whoever mentioned it, the hardest part of the beginning of the year is getting to know your teachers.

hahaha nice! Good luck

So many sophomores are taking precalc lol

RVA! (Richmond va) but unlike a lot of people here, I’ve been in ib since 6th grade and it ends in 10th, then the diploma program is normal from 11th to 12th grade

@imhkim I feel you. There are a lot of freshman in my Algebra II class too, and I’m just thinking, “I took pre-Algebra in the eighth grade…not GEOMETRY…I am a mathematically challenged individual”

^But what makes it even funnier is that alg 2 is the standard math class for sophomores. Most freshmen dont take alg 2 anyway lol Yet, it seems as if we’re far behind lol But hey, that doesn’t mean that you’re a mathematically challenged individual; no one is

btw, if it seems as if I’m intentionally trying to talk negatively about ones who are in higher math, lol nah I’m not trying to do that. just wanted to share my envy!

AP Stats, AP World, Algebra/Trig, Chemistry, English, Spanish, Band, Health, Gym (everything is honors if it’s not AP, besides the obvious gym, health and band)

My school doesn’t calculate GPAs on a 4.0 scale…is a 4.0 equivalent to a 100, only, or is there some leniency?

@imhkim - Yeah, I live in New York!

@oonawong - At my school, the honors math classes (we don’t have AP Calc until junior year) actually take Geometry in 9th grade and Pre-Alg in 8th. The “normal” classes take Geometry in 10th. NY is so behind. D:

Oh, and quick question: when you guys email a teacher a question, do you follow up on them after he or she answers you? (As in reply to their answer, “Yes, that makes sense now. Thank you!” or something along the lines of that.)

Hmmm… sorry
I don’t know how the GPA 100 scale thing converts up to, since my school uses just the 4.0 GPA scale.

Now I feel like my school is behind, though, because most of us take AP Calc in senior year… (Geometry for 9th, Alg 2 for 10th, Precalc for 11th, AP Calc for 12th). It’s weird, because my school is pretty prestigious (not to be bragging or anything lol) but doesn’t offer that many options lol

And yeah, I always write back with a short “Thank you! :)” hahaha idk, is it weird to use smiley faces to teachers?

@catching
I believe anything over a 93 or so should be around 4.0.

I’m taking Spanish 2, honors algebra2/trig, honors English, regular bio, and AP World History oh and the easiest class ever…PE of course loool I thought I was overwhelmed with the honors classes but most of you guys have some intense classes that make mine look like nothing hahaha

I’m taking Band, French 2, Chemistry, AP World History, Honors English, and IB Math SL Yr. 1 Acc.

GPA: 3.61

I already know two of my teachers from last year…my AP Bio teacher and my Spanish 2 Honors teacher.

Anything over a 93 is a 4.0?! Woah…

A lot of people in honors get to AP Calc in senior year, but my school lets us take a Pre-Calc crash course over the summer at a university and skip it. (:

^wow, you guys are so lucky! I wish my school could do that! My school’s head of the math department believes that skipping or cramming a prerequisite leads students to not understand the basics and do poorly in the higher class. That is true, but still
I wish there is an option to crash course too :(
