Awwww, my alg 2 teacher (idk there are two but one teacher teaches only one class of alg 2 so I prob won’t get him) doesn’t teach lol I heard he talks about pizza every single class LOL

I think I just want to apply to every college so I don’t miss one that I’d really like then I can decide afterwards. Except id spend all my tuition money on sending applications and test scores. Seriously I just decided its probably best to stay in the east and its really upsetting me to skip the states that aren’t in the east in my college book. I mean they aren’t realistic because I can’t visit them by car next summer and I’m not flying to visit a college I might end up disliking. I’m having difficulty coming up with criteria for a college. I guess that’s because I haven’t talked my parents about how much we can pay. I kind of would like to go somewhere that gives a full ride or full tuition, but I also want To a really good school and I feel those aren’t right for me. I kind of want to go for an LAC, but I either want to go into engineering, medicine or business depending on the classes I like this year so I think a research uni would be better. Then I might want to apply to a year med program, but what if I change my mind 3.5 years through. It’s too hard!
. I’m no longer alive.

Lol, that whole post was filled with conflictions.
I’d definitely start with location as your first criteria, then work from there.
You can always go to a variety of schools and see which atmosphere you prefer.

I get my schedule on Wednesday and we start after Labor Day. But since everyone here starts school so early, I’ve been doing stuff to be productive.

@imhkim - Good luck!

Hahah, I’m probably going to end up applying to 100 different colleges just because I’m so paranoid. Like, what if I only apply to Stanford and it rejects me, but Harvard would have accepted me? Or, what if I didn’t get into Brown, but I could have gotten into Cornell if I applied? Just kidding, I won’t get into any of those schools.
Admissions is such a crapshoot, though. It’s so unpredictable and there’s a chance that one school would reject you when another, at the same level, would accept you.

^ pretty much.
What if I get rejected from every single one? Even my safeties. Then I’d really be dead. I’m kind of excited for school because I want to know if ill like accounting. If I don’t then I will probs go into medicine, but major in engineering. I sure do wish I could just have been a butterfly though. That would have been much easier if you ask me. I hope I have lunch with my friends because if not I’m probably just going to drop out of school because I’m shyish and introvert ish and so I am completely hopeless at making new friends.literally I CAN’T. You have no idea.

I have somewhat of an idea being introverted myself…

@theatlantic
I feel bad picking locations. Like what if my perfect college was actually in the west but I didn’t even look at it because I just decided I didn’t want to go to school in the west. That would be sad. They aren’t realistic though. Next summer I’m going wit my mom and maybe a friend to visit some colleges. Class probably won’t be in session at most, but I can’t go any other time. We are driving so I’d like to stick to the east. I do think ill probably end up in Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island, or SC. I’m the oldest in my family so I haven’t had any exposure to the process. I don’t know if its really horrible idea to be a science or engineering major at an LAC, but I think that kind of small environment is what I’ll like because I’m from a small town and went to a small private school for the last 9 years until last year. Now I go to a small public (about 500 kids about 9-10x the size of my old school).though,
I’m shy and introverted as I said so maybe I’d do better somewhere where I can just blend in. I want to live on campus because Its so “easy”. You just need a meal plan and its all figured out for you and i hate cooking. At the same time I want to just live on my own because I hate sharing a room, but I might not have a car. It’s just so much more complicated.

I start school tomorrow and I was officially done with my summer assignment today. I was too lazy to read over it one last time though…

Are you all taking lunch? I’ve always skipped it…

I use that time for homework.

Haha, thanks catchinginfinity!
@slytherclaw12: I go to school the day after Labor Day too! You mean Wednesday Sep 4th, right? That’s so cool!
@letmeseetheworld: Good luck! haha You probs did fine on the assignment
@55al00m: Yeah, I agree with TheAtlantic, who said that location is important. But the thing is, your perfect school isn’t going to be in only one place. There are thousands of colleges and you’ll end up loving more than just one. LAC will be good for those majors, since you can have better interactions with your professors and you could end up learning more. Idk, I always loved the idea of small schools because I’m also an introvert myself and I prefer small schools. So Meander, same as you
For me, one of the biggest criteria is the majority of students’ ethnicities. lol I’m Asian and my high school is like 30% Asian. Most of my friends are Asians, and we sometimes speak in our own language together, and this is comfortable when I can’t think of the English word. As long as there’s at least 5% Asian, it’s all good though. Also, don’t worry about not being able to get accepted to all your colleges, because there’s only a very small percentage that it would happen to you.

Wish me luck.
Idk I guess I could go to the library for lunch or something.
Everybody goes to lunch though. Ill have to see when the librarian goes this year.

^ haha good luck! :D

Is anybody else the only person in our grade who researches colleges in their free time? Everyone thinks we’re too young so I do it secretly and don’t tell anyone hahaha.

^omg! I do that too! LOL I thought I was the only one! ahahahahah I went on collegeconfidential and student review and omg my school naviance
For this one particular school that I like totally love, I went on its homepage a few times
I also imagined myself being in that school lol i already know that I’m gonna apply ED there so I’m so excited :)

^ Hahah, yes…my dream school is my browser homepage. :P

That’s weird that you guys are all required to take lunch; in my school, it’s “recommended” and most people do take it, but you can also take another class in place of it if you wanted to.

I research universities too much. I think it’s really stressing me out, and contributing poorly to my anxiety problems.

^LOL that’s pretty awesome for you too! Lunch isn’t really required for us; you can use lunch as a free period and just go to the library if you need to finish up hw or sth. Like your lunch period doesn’t have to be only for eating. Freshmen don’t have this choice, but the rest can even go out to eat. A lot of people go to Dunkin Donuts for lunch and stuff. Despite all this, we’re not allowed to replace lunch with a class.

omg I just realized that I have to take the class Driver’s ed next year… Cant believe I’m going to be driving in a few years! :O

Lol “I sure do wish I were a butterfly, that would be much easier” haha I think like that sometimes too! AP World is kicking my butt, I got a 70 on the first test. So the next test, I HAVE to do well on.
