I’d love a fall break… I found middle school more interesting the first month than the first month of high school.

Honestly, my first month of high school has already been way better than my three years of middle school due to various circumstances. Let’s just say I found the benefits of getting a callback for one of the biggest romantic leads of all time ;)

-------------------------------------------If it is to be, it is up to me…

I already like high school a lot better than middle school too. I’ve gotten to connect with some old friends and make new ones, which was a pretty big step for someone shy like me. It’s also nice to know that our grades actually matter now. It motivates me to do my work and not just blow it off like I did in middle school. I almost failed 8th grade because of that.

High school has been pretty good. But school is school. I place a lot more importance on grades now. And I’m meeting new people.

Sigh. I felt sick this morning so I came home after first period, but then I took a nap and now I feel better. Now I can’t stop thinking about all the work I’m missing and everything I’m gonna have to do tomorrow. :P

Aw man, that sucks. If it makes you feel any better I’m on break so we can talk all day. :)

Haha, thanks. I’m just doing all the work that isn’t due for another week or so right now. I feel like I need to do something productive!

I know how you feel, man. I always feel like that. I just never do anything about it. lol :D

So true ahaha I’m the #1 procrastinator

Same here. It’s an awful habit but I probably won’t stop until it catches up with me.

I used to be the biggest procrastinator until I started high school, lol. I just think of how much I’m going to regret not doing it later and that (usually) helps me get started. :P

I’m procrastinating studying for my ACT. It’s bad. I know it’s on the 27th, I know I must do well or else I won’t get into a good college/scholarships. My goal is a 30. But I just feel numb to it all, you know? Or maybe you guys are too smart to understand…

^Are you a sophomore?

Hahha no I"ma senior. Just my screen name.

oh, haha. 'cause i was like “why is a sophomore taking the ACT?”

I still think I should graduate one year early.

Well if you really think you should, don’t let anyone on here stop you. It’s just their opinion.

Today was an eye opener for me.

It all started with my GIEP this morning. It’s basically a meeting for a gifted kid to discuss their goals and any area they need to improve themselves in. Anyway, I was reading my teacher’s comments on the form, and all but one stated that I didn’t participate enough. I thought nothing of it. I rarely participated in the past and I was fine. That’s when my gifted teacher said it was important to actively participate in class to help foster good relationships with your teachers, and that good relationships were the key to good recommendations for colleges. It’s going to be hard for someone shy like me, but I guess I’ll just have to do He also said that I need to get involved in some extracurricular, but I have no idea what to do. I’m currently trying to get a spot on the Science Olympiad team, but other than that I don’t really know of any club that interests me. Any ideas?

After that I took a test in geometry. I had forgotten to do the extra credit the night before and I didn’t study at all, big mistake. I wasn’t able to finish 2 questions because I didn’t know what to do and one was worth 10 points, the other 15 points, so that should easily drop my test grade down to a C. I’m afraid to see what that’s gonna do to my average. As much as I’m gonna hate it, I’ll have to study if I want to keep good grades. I never thought this day would come. Teachers would always say you needed to study in middle school, but I always aced tests with just a quick review before the test. It’s kind of ironic though. My bio teacher attended my GIEP and she said that I seem to have poor time management skills, always scrambling to finish last night’s homework in homeroom. She told me she had the same problem, and it’s one of those things that you just have to suffer the consequences in order to change. She was right (for me at least).

It kind of hurt hearing these things, but at least now I know how to improve myself. :)

Spirit Days:
Monday- 80s Day
Tuesday -Safari Day
Wednesday-Junge Gym(jerseys)
Thursday-Salad Dressing Day(each grade wears certain colors, seniors wear togas)
Friday-Class t-shirt Day

We also have a parade(which I’m marching in) on Friday. There’s also a game. The dance is on Saturday.

imscared asked in a private discussion, but I wanted to tell everyone

To start a club get:
A consenting teacher
A Room
A Time slot
5-12 people
A proposal

My club uses technology/engineering to better my community (Kindle library management, QR Codes, SQUARE, Wii’s and other cool software/hardware)

Also, I can’t reveal the record in specifics as that would compromise the identity that one of you surely crack in 4 years, but it was related to…sports gaming (Don’t worry, I like hard-core games too!)
