Um hi guys…what are we talking about?

@dsi411 - The new SAT. I’ve been practicing current sections from released tests. 760M, 650CR, 600W. So I’m in the same boat as you guys. I think I’ll just take it fall of Junior year and end of Soph year and try to get in the 2300-2400 because we will be the last class to take the current PSAT.

@apandia Our class is the class that will be taking the new one.

@livelaugh7 @DigitalKing - Dinosaur golf tournaments, dinosaur olympics, dinosaur university, dinosaur parking spots, dinosaur airlines

@Yakisoba no I am not Japanese. I am taking Japanese in a California public school.

@livelaugh7 I know there will be easier vocabulary but I’m not sure about math.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but I think the math will be marginally more difficult. It’s going to focus more on what is actually taught in school, which may preclude some of the current math questions that stress logic.

@candypants16 I think that’s true.
I liked the logic though. Sigh.

@DigitalKing, @CandyPants16 , @folkiestcat At least math is easier to learn, and I could say I am pretty good at it. The thing about vocal is that you can prep all you want but you can still come over a word that you haven’t seen before. With math, there are basic rules and you use logic to solve it.

How do you guys take the SAT early? My school only offers it for juniors.

^^^^^ same. we take the PSAT sophomore year

ARE YOU SERIOUS? WE HAVE TO TAKE THE NEW PSAT FOR NMSF? AAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH SCREW THE COLLEGE BOARD

NOPE NOT KIDDING!

We don’t have ANY good way to know what to expect :<

@livelaugh7 - HOW DO WE KNOW WHAT WE HAVE TO GET? HOW DO WE STUDY? THIS IS THE WORST NEWS EVER.

GUYS CAN I GET ADVICE?!?!?!?!?!??!?!?

Okay so I love science, like a lot. Near my house by like 20min, there is this STEM school that is free but only takes 50 kids and sends them off to top tier schools and some go to Ivies. If I go (which would be Junior & Senior year) I would be ahead of most of my peers and would be taking college courses at the school at the college that sponsors this academy. I would also get to perform research at the lab and other really cool things like that. IDK if i should go or not. I would need to schedule a shadow day and if I decide to go, I would have to talk to my gc and other stuff that will take a while.

@livelaugh7 I’d definitely take it

@apandia I HAVE NO IDEA CAUSE NO ONE KNOWS BUT THE COLLEGE BOARD UNTIL WE TAKE IT THE FIRST TIME!!!

I am going to use the current SAT book and vocab cards my dad bought me tonight and should come tuesday and just make sure you know all the math up till Algebra 1/2 and I think it should be alright. If you study the hard stuff and get good, we will think the test is easy and do better

@kawaii there is one catch, the college courses don’t count for AP credit so if I go to say Boston University, all the college course work I did won’t count. Not unless I go to WPI itself. And they probably won’t let me take the amount of courses I want.

So junior year at my current school, i would be taking AP Chem and AP Physics but there I would take only one College course Chem class

Are we allowed to take it in 10th grade and still qualify for NMSQT? I’m way too pissed currently, screw the system. this is for you College Board: L-)

@livelaugh7 - I would go for it. You can self study the AP tests.
