High School Class of 2019

I had a test today and made a 100. So happy!! The majority of the eighth graders will be going to the Outer Banks this weekend, Monday, and Tuesday. I can’t go because I got in trouble…so hopefully Monday and Tuesday we won’t be doing busy work.

@IrrationalPepsi what did you do?

This girl had started stuff and it was about me. She posted it in Facebook and I commented on it. I didn’t cuss or anything, but I basically compared her to a whore. And yeah, I got OSS for that. Coud have gotten charges pressed on me. I had ISS for the rest of the day, too. They said I cyber bullied, but I didn’t. I only put one comment and it wasn’t in school hours, like they tried to say. Her family proceeded to cuss me and threaten me and she even cussed me in a succeeding comment. Did they get in trouble or warned? No. My honest, nice version comment cost me the eighth grade field trip and a swimming trip. Oh well.

My schedule is the least rigorous lol

My 9th Grade Schedule

Honors English 9
PreAP Statistics (12th grade PreAP class)
Honors World Geography (OP, how does your school allow you to take APUSH in 9th grade? Thats so cool!)
Honors Biology
Debate
French 1
Basketball

PS Guys have any of you started thinking about clubs you want to join? I don’t know much about what is offered at my school, but maybe some of you do.

Hey, I’ll be in Honors Biology too. Like, all of us are. Maybe we can study together or something lol

Yeah, haha

So, how’s your classes this year?

Logicisfun, you need your teacher to recommend you to APUS History in my school. If you do not get recommended, you can’t go. I’m also taking Honors Biology next year, but the curriculum might be different from other schools, idk.

The upperclassman at my school literally made a 15 page guide on all the class, clubs, and sports to do as freshman so I’m good to go lol

APUSH is only for Juniors at my school, and unfortunately, people dont get recommended into it.

@FoodIsLife13 Wow, that sounds cool. Anything specific?

At my school, you can take an AP at any time, as long as you’ve completed the prerequisites and have been recommended. What AP classes do you guys plan to take? It doesn’t have to be in order or set in stone.

-AP Biology
-AP Chemistry
-AP Calculus AB
-AP Statistics
-AP Government
-AP Psychology
-AP Human Geography
-AP Environmental Science.

Most of these are blow off classes, but I’m either full blown interested or semi-interested in these.

@logicisfun Giovuhnni and I go to the same school and we’re going to go to the same high school so yeah…
As he said, you have to be recommended by your 8th grade history teacher in order to take APUSH as a freshman. Typically 30-40 students are recommended, but only 20 freshman take the class because a lot of people are too scared to take the class.

@IrrationalPepsi I plan on taking a lot of AP and Dual Enrollment (DE- all DE courses are 1 semester long) courses
9th-
APUSH

10th-
AP Calculus BC
AP NSL Gov’t
AP Physics (My school doesn’t have C)

11th-
DE Multivariable Calculus
DE Differential Equations
DE Physics: Mechanics (Probably self study for AP test)
DE Physics: Electricity & Magnetism (Probably self study for AP test)
AP Chemistry DP
AP English Lang
AP Economics (Macro & Micro)

12th-
DE Linear Algebra
DE Complex Variables
DE Organic Chemistry
DE Inorganic Chemistry
AP English Lit
AP World History
IB Spanish 5
Might add AP Bio DP, DE Physics, or another science in senior year

Total AP: 10 or more
Total DE: 8 or more
Total IB: 1
Total: 19 or more

Well aren’t you Miss. Rigor, haha. That’s a compliment, not a rude comment.

Hey guys, would not taking an AP English class hurt me? I’ll be taking at least two AP classes from every other core subject. My analyzing literacy skills are mediocre. I can probably handle an honors English class, but I don’t know about AP. I’m great in every subject but English…

I’m just gonna give some advice, 'cause, you know, I feel like it.

My number 1 piece of advice: Don’t do extracurriculars/ classes just to get into college. Take classes and activities that you are genuinely interested in because, trust me, admissions can see right through an un-genuine application.

Admissions people don’t care if you were the secretary to the vice president of Politics Club for one year, or about that one time you volunteered at the Humane Society. It’s not the quantity of activites, it’s the quality. Your hours of involvement in one thing and your leadership in that field speak A LOT more for your personal qualities than being in 30 random clubs. When it comes time to apply, show admissions officers that you have a passion without having to say it.

@logicisfun it was basically what teachers are easy and hard, and stuff like that  what sports are you guys thinking of doing? the sports teams at my school aren’t that great so for JV you basically just have to sign up lol

Ooh I did Volleyball this year but I dont think I’m going to continue. I’m probably going to do Cross Country and Track &/or Volleyball.

Does anyone else find 8th grade year really easy? Honestly, I’ve been doing the bare minimum to get into good classes, and I’ve been recommended into the top ones so I’d say thats a success. Also, some of the classes are a joke… My favorite subject is History and I’ve learned more this year when a substitute came in for a day then I have the entire year from my regular teacher. Don’t get me wrong he’s great he just doesn’t teach us anything.

Its mainly just history… Sorry for my rant.

So who’s doing Model UN or Debate?

@OneExcitedDude are you taking APUSH next year?
And @IAmNotCreativ, are there DE classes at our school?
