And my SAT score has improved overall around 100 points. And it just won't get any higher.

Its impossible. I've been trying since summer.

Granted, I haven't worked through Rocket REview. Whenever I get around to it (I don't care right now) and I'm able to improve, then you know this book has to be good.

I don't know what the red/blue books are, but the Princeton Review SAT book really helped me. I only took it once, so I don't know about improvements, but I got a 2220 after a few weeks of reading that book...it really does in depth about how to take the test.

so do you guys recommend the princeton review book? I already bought the CB one, its bound to get here soon ( I bought it through amazon). Is that enough or should I buy the princeton one? I plan on doing the sats november 5th with zero practice just to see where Im at. Then Ill practice during vacations and do it again during march I guess.

Don't EVER take the SAT with zero practice "just to see where you are at." That is a really stupid idea. Practice with the Blue Book (CB one) until you think you are prepared enough to do your best.

Yes, practice before your first test. There is a thread on CC, can't find it at the moment.....basically if you raise your scores by several hundred points, they accuse you of cheating.

Also, I have heard that it isn't good to take the SAT more than three times.....you may want/need to take the SAT three times so don't waste the first one on a "practice" test situation.

Wow, Flipsta. Thanks for that great tip! I never thought of that before!! :OO!!#@@#1 I mean, I went through have the red and all of the blue book... got grammatix and flipped through Rocket REview! Who knew that wasn't enough studying!!!

Ithink PR is only good for people who are looking to score less the 700. It suggests you don't do the last quarter of each of the math sections!

Well, if no one knows any way to increase one's score, then I guess I created a useless topic and it only supports my theory that SATs are impossible unless you're naturally smart. :)

I used PR and scored a 740 on all 3 sections my first time around. PR doesn't say that, that suggestion is for people who have a hard time getting through the entire section. Because questions at the end get progressively harder, it's better for people that have a hard time to focus more on those in the beginning.

I'd recommend PR to anyone. It's a bit harder than the actual SAT, so you'll probably score higher on the actual SAT than PR's practice tests.

I might be the only one to like the RocketReview book lol. It really helped me out with the writing section and the the verbal. I consistently got 11 or 12 on the essay portion and like 750+ on verbal.

Now it is a love or hate kind of relationship with that book. It teaches you concepts, but not alot of practice. I am doing the blue book right now to get more practice. Goal is 2350+. Last time i took it was only with practice from the RR book. 760 Verbal, 740 Math, 640 Writing (11 on the essay).
