Hispanics Stats

If you don't mind, can you guys post your stats, and what college you got accepted to? I just want to see how I'll stack up and stuff...

Just a word of caution here, as I think that any stats, even for Hispanic students, have to be taken in context. There are a myriad of factors within this group of applicants that can have an affect on how colleges will evaluate their stats as well as their other credentials (ECs, LORs, essays, etc.), for instance: SES, HS attended (private, suburban, underserved, etc.), country of origin, overcoming adversity, language spoken at home.

I think it’s valuable to look at the stats of other Hispanic students, that’s one of the first things I did when I got on CC, mostly by monitoring results threads of colleges of interest in the spring. However, I think it would be simplistic to believe that all Hispanics are considered equal, and such a belief could lead to very surprising results. For instance, based on comments by other long term posters and my own Ds experience, I’d come to the conclusion that any high scoring Hispanic, no matter what their other cultural and social attributes, would be shoe ins for all top colleges as they add to diversity but don’t present much of an academic “risk” for the schools to take. However, this winter, I saw a Hispanic who appeared to be very qualified in all ways and with test scores that would be in the top few percent, who was denied from Y SCEA. Of course I know that Y is extremely competitive, but this student was not even deferred, he was straight out denied. Now, since this is the internet, it could have been a lie, although there wasn’t anything about the poster that would have made one think so. Or there could have been something in their application, for instance a suspension or extremely bad essay, that could have kept them out. Anyway, I’m just trying to say that it’s not always readily apparent how schools evaluate URMs in general and Hispanics in particular.

i wish i still got to see hispanic stats :(

Ummmmm,
